Bidders could just be sociopaths messing with the seller for having the audacity to list cards when the most potential buyers are looking

The first one is at $3,000 now from 25 bids with 14 hours left.

On a side note, why do idiots pay crazy amounts for a player's autograph right after they die?
If they'd just wait a few months, the prices and demand will drop dramatically, especially for a player like Gwynn who signed millions of autographs.

Doubt these are legit. Most likely idiots who think social justice is being served on people attempting to capitalize on unfortunate circumstances.

Wow, one sold for $935 and the other is at almost 3 1/2 times the selling price. If I were to buy the one in the second auction, I know I'd ask for a more clearer focused picture.

I wonder if those are being bought up by one of the repack companies as a premium card to be added into one of their products?

Im not a handwriting expert but the signature looks to be authentic to me.

Both auctions are being "won" by brand new 0 FB accounts, although one guy was the underbidder at $900. The $3000 one has a 2nd place bidder at $3000, and he seems pretty legit, even though the account is new.

Is this set highly collected? I could imagine SPs from this set are completely dried up and Gwynn's death shook a couple loose, leading to this craziness. Too bad they're likely both bogus results. Well, a couple sold earlier in the week for $202.50 at auction, then a $400 BIN was hit. The $202 auction was also won by a 0 FBer.

The 0 FBers are the social justice freaks who think no one has the right to sell something in the immediate days after someone passes. I don't get why people have such a problem with a guy making a few bucks on something just because a guy died. It's not like the deceased or their family are impacted. Is the whole world supposed to go into mourning and observe some sort of sales moratorium on items related to the deceased?

I tend to agree here. I think of it more in the way of... when someone passes like this, some people then actually all the sudden want to get an item of the person, so this gives them the opportunity to do that. I don't think it's wrong.

I don't have a problem with people selling Gwynn stuff right after. Obviously, after someone passes away, the "demand" is way up, so its just the nature of commerce to get more "supply"...
As for the 98 Auto, I think those really high ones have got to be bogus. Another one just went up w/ a BIN of $2000, so that ill be interesting. I have bought all of mine for under $25, so no, it's not a hot set.
My last one:

** I do think its disgusting when they use the "DEATH" or in their sales pitch, or Title...

Yea, might be one of those situations where couple guys are just running the price up... clearly getting people's attention with threads like this... then baiting people into the real auction. Pretty sad if people are going to lengths like that.

Gwynn545 - do you have this auto? If it were legit, I'd just sell it to make the $1k or more and get it back later lol.
