Weird, I have been picking up a lot of the cards on these lists over the last few weeks just to bring back some memories.

No order, some of my favorites were...

1990 Score Frank Thomas
1992 Bowman Cliff Floyd
1990 UD Kevin Maas
1986 Donruss Jose Canseco
1980 Topps Rickey Henderson
1989 UD Ken Griffey Jr
1984 Topps Don Mattingly
1983 Topps Ryne Sandberg
1985 Topps Roger Clemens
1985 Topps Mark McGwire

Some good times back in the day. I still have a binder full of Brien Taylor's somewhere

Cool topic! I'll treat this as the top 10 cards I wanted, had, or thought would someday be valuable from my collecting heyday... the early-mid 90s.

In no particular order:

1) 89 UD Griffey RC
2) Fleer Billy Ripken "Eff Face"
3) 90 Leaf Frank Thomas
4) 85 Topps McGwire
5) 90 Topps Frank Thomas NNOF
6) 97 Bowman Kerry Wood RC
7) 97 Bowman Travis Lee RC
8) 92 Bowman Mike Piazza RC
9) Donruss Elite... any of them!
10) Shawn Green Topps/UD RCs.

I wanted a Wood RC so bad after his 20 K game (duh, so did everybody), but the card shop I went to refused to sell it at the "current" book value and instead had already marked it up because of insane demand and instant popularity. I didn't think they'd be allowed to do that, LOL. I was maybe 14 or 15 at the time.

My list is multi-sport and i left a few of the obvious candidates off the list (89 Griffey, Billy Ripken, Bo Jackson B & W). In no particular order...

1990/91 Score Lindros RC- I was supposed to retire off of the 15 or so Lindros RCs i had.
1990/91 UD French Sergei Federov- Dealers where trying to sell this card for over $1000 at one time. That was unheard of for a brand new card in 1990/91.
1989/90 O-Pee-Chee Theo Fleury RC- Came out the Fall after Calgary won the Stanley Cup. This card was HUGE in my city.
1986 Donruss Jose Canseco-Like others mentioned this card hit $150 BV back in 1989/90. I wanted one so bad as a kid/teen. They where very hard to find up in Canada. The odd dealer would have one at a show once in awhile, but i never actually knew anyone that had this card. I finally got to pick one up at a card shop for $15 in Palm Springs in about 1999.
1985/86 O-Pee-Chee Mario Lemieux RC- If you didn't pull this card back in 85/86, chances are you didn't own one (unless you had $400 to spend) because this card was scorching hot after Pittsburgh won back to back Stanley Cups in 91/92
1991 Gold Leaf rookies Todd Van Poppel- I saw this one on someone elses list and reminded me of this card. A hard to get insert of Baseballs biggest prospect in years, in the highest premium product of its time. Yup, this card was HOT!!!!
1989 Score Barry Sanders-Another card i really wanted as a kid/teen. Barry was the hottest thing in Football and 1989 Score Football was limited.
1990 Leaf Frank Thomas- Another hot rookie from a premium set that rivaled Upper Deck in popularity.
1990/91 Fleer Shawn Kemp RC- I remember people saying that this was gonna be the next Jordan RC in terms of value and nostalgia
1990 Pro Set Stanley Cup Hologram- There where rumors that the dealers where taking their unopened pro set cases to airports, to get them scanned by the metal detectors, to find out if the hologram was in there. I remember this card had $1500 price tag on it after it came out.
