I suspect many of us gained a love for baseball and collecting from our fathers. That would be #1 for me. My dad and I use to collect together in the early 1980's. He was instrumental in the foundation of my Williams collection and vintage set collections. Thanks dad......

Excellent post Scott. My father wasn't around at the time, but my grandfather was the one that got me collecting. He got me started in 1982. On Sundays after church, we would stop by IGA and he would buy me 2-4 packs of Topps. We would sit in the car and open them. Such great memories. He still asks me about my collection from time to time. Thank you grandpa.

1) eBay for sure
2) FCB-no doubt, I have picked up countless cards on here that are extremely rare and could not have gotten on eBay, I picked up a much needed Leon Day glove card, a 1/1 sterling ott patch, maris and rizzuto patches. Triple Threads Gibson bat and I also have a couple big deals in the works, I definitely could not thank some of the guys on here enough for their contributions to my PC

3) Local card shop, unfortunately after 18 years went out of business a month ago

4) Card shows, really just had occasional nice pickups there nothing to brag about

...and this reminds me of my grandmother (who is almost 91 years old) who would take me to CVS and let me pick out a couple of packs (likely 1975-1978)......

FCB and Beckett.I have done many deals for alex gordon cards.I was such a noob to trading and internet trading since I hadn't been really involved with cards for over 10 years and the people I traded with that first gave me a chance really taught me the rules and helped me avoid mistakes.Without that I don't think I would have been able to complete so many trades and sales. So thanks all you guys.

Ebay.

Thats about it.Buying packs and boxes doesn't add to the personal collection very often.
