Pretty confident you most likely already chose them further down the line, but just wanted to vouch for Ed Reed and Troy Palumalu.

He looks like he might be the best of the three first round linebackers to come out of USC last year.

While I agree Cushing is very good, I would be willing to bet Clay Matthews has a better career.

For sure something to follow.

They are undoubtedly on the list...

I'll post another tomorrow...keep in mind, this is over the past 12 years...all these are more recent.

My guess:

1. Polamalu
2. Peppers
3. Ed Reed

I'm biased being a Steeler fan, but I would've had Polamalu #1 and then Reed #2.

Any reason for that?

My reasons for Reed being #1 were really more career INT and far more career TDs.

I think you had it right, Reed > Polamalu, but then again I'm biased being a Hurricanes fan.

Think Ed will actually retire? Or was his 50/50 statement more due to a recent playoff loss and a long painful season?

I think it's just out of frustration and that he will return.

I am biased. Polamalu means more to the Steelers than Reed to the Ravens.

I also understand the argument about Reed having more interceptions and TDs than Troy but Polamalu is superior at helping in the defense of the short passing game and at stopping the run. He also defends 1-on-1 more than Reed.

You were correct with Reed. That man has changed the course/momentum of countless games. (Not saying Polu hasn't) His prescense is enough to make any QB question their own judgement in any pass attack.

I thought you were ranking the cards and not the players. If you rank it based on the card, then Polamalu is #1. You can get a Reed for $80, you can't find a Polamalu for under $120.
