It's been a few years now and I forget the set, but there was a 1955 Topps Hal Newhouser chopped up for one of these kinds of cards at some point. Pretty cheesy in my opinion, but what the heck do I know.

I think you're thinking of Tristar Signacuts, they had mad cards like this

No, I'm thinking 2004/05 and I'm pretty sure it was something Legendary Cuts or another Upper Deck product, definitely not Tristar and not Topps either.

Caminiti is also in 1997 Donruss Signature.

Both these cards feature on-card autographs.

Avoid the ugly cut and go with the old school!

I cannot, but I know Therion can. It looks like the SP cut example.

Just found Therion's link, and it's even from the same set as the one cut up for the SP.

I got this IP at a minor league game in 89, I think.

On the Upper Deck blog, they have a poor man's Topps Rip Master in street clothes handing out packs from a box of 2009 Legendary Cuts.

The hit card out of the box was a cut autograph of Johnny Oates [deceased] - if you look closely, you can tell the autograph cut is on a 1992 Topps card.

Caminiti sure changed his autograph. His cert autos look nothing like the early autos of his.
