Just watched this break, looks like a few things have changed. First, the rookies are much tougher pulls, secondly there are no box toppers, and lastly the Cheerleader cards are making a chrome appearance too.

Its too bad, because last year was one of my favorite of the year, this year looks rough.

Also, those Chicle cards DO NOT transfer well to chrome. Philly Chicle > Topps Chicle.

It's a nice looking set. I'm still excited for the group break. It's only one box out of how many? Can't really judge the entire product on one bad box. If you did, no wax product would ever be any good. There's bad boxes of every single product produced.

The cheerleader cards suck and the lack of rookies in that box also sucks, but hopefully there's a little better collation in the rest of the boxes.

Yeah, Topps changed the format a little bit this year. First of all, the main set is only 220 cards (110 each vets and rookies.) Also, the rookies are only 1:2 packs according to the Blowout sell page. This should make the set MUCH more difficult to complete than last year and give the rookies more value on the secondary market. If you were to get no doubles, you'd need 4 boxes and a blaster to get all the rookies in this year's set.

Also, Chrome cards hold decent value but it's still not a break I'd do if I was looking to make some cash. If you don't hit at least a refractor of a good rookie, you're not going to sell anything for jack.

Oh, its nice this year, as Chrome always is. I really like the set. I would really like to see less cheerleaders/chicle cards and more rookies.

It still sucks that football didnt get on card like baseball.

I think I kind of like it if the rookies are a little tougher to pull.

As for the box breaks, it has always seemed like it was a long shot to pull a good auto from Chrome....which is probably why this is the only product that I've chosen to primarily buy retail of. The past few years the blasters have been filled with more than a fair share amount of rookies/inserts/refractors, so it's a fun break. Judging by your inital take this is probably what i'll do again this year.

I'm glad I saw this, because I thought about buying a couple boxes. Instead I think I'll just wait for a couple of the rookie autos I want to appear on eBay.

So which one is it? One post you say that it's "rough" and then in this post you say "oh, it's nice this year..."

You are speaking out of both sides of your mouth here.

I think if I follow correctly, he is referring to baseball chrome versus the football chrome.....I may be way wrong though.

That is how thread flows in my eyes.

When he said "rough" he was referring to the box break that he linked in the first post. When he said "oh, it's nice this year", he was referring to the actually look and design of the set.

Dang. Just saw on the blowout forums some guy said he opened up a CASE and was a few rookies short of a full set. ::facepalm::

Sounds like a relatively expensive proposition to be putting the set together.

What is topps thinking? Making the RC's lesser per box only takes value away. It means we pull more
worthless base cards. Why would anyone buy this garbage?

I would however reather have the hot cheerleader cards rather than the round 7 rookie cards they usually
put in. I'm glad topps made this product a no decision. There is nothing here worth buying.
