Looking at starting up a football rc collection of Quarterbacks of this generation.
I had hoped that there was something similar to Hockeys Young Guns, but
Unfortunately there is not.

so, that has me thinking about alternatives. Now, im looking to collect,
Not for money, but because I love cards.

I've always been the type that collects what he wants and how he wants.
That being said, i want my collection to be fairly uniform. Meaning that Id
Like to stick with one brand. Seeing that topps had their licence renewed,
That means that more Bowman Chrome as well as Topps Chrome will be
Made going forward.

Some things that come to mind right off for me (please keep in mind that
My fb card knowledge is fairly limited).

Tom brady does not have a topps chrome, but does have a bowman chrome.
Peyton Manning has both.

Id love some input on this subject frommy FCB Brothers

Please keep in mind that i am not looking for auto/patch/whatever to be part
Of my rc collection.

Thanks,
Eric

Either route you go, you're going to have to sacrifice some players.

Not only does Brady not have a TC rookie, but neither does Tony Romo.

Aaron Rodgers only has an auto rookie in Bowman Chrome, but has a non-auto in Topps Chrome. There are a few players like this who have an auto only version in either set, but I can't think of them offhand.

Personally, I usually like Bowman Chrome more just from a design and overall look.

You don't want auto's or you don't care if they're auto'd?

Because when you say "uniform" one of the first sets that comes to mind is the Contenders rc's. While they are different every year - the theme/design is similar. Also provides one of the deepest checklists and is a widely popular and collected set.

I know I've thought a few times about going through and trying to get every Dolphins rc made in a product and that's the set I've always leaned toward.

i dont mind if they're auto'd. BUT absolutely NO stickers.

Stickers are **** and the ultimate laziness of card companies

Then you may be disappointed in any of these choices. If history is any indicator, stickers have been the norm. Contenders deviated a bit from that this year, with some on-card. Maybe give SP Authentic a whirl. Very collectable cards, on-card autos, and nice looking to boot.

If you can get past stickers, either of the Chromes or Contenders (except for 2007 & 2008) are all good bets.

No offense TBP, but you may be a little too anal for football collecting.

SPA would be a good choice (though pricey) if you wanted Brady, Manning, Romo, etc. Otherwise, Bowman Chrome IMO. Bowman always has more rookies than Topps.
