I had this job for over a year. If anyone is applying, best of luck to you and I'd be happy to answer any questions, but it is not as great as it sounds (at least it wasn't for me).

Was it at least interesting for you? And more importantly, how much did it pay? :)

I skimmed through the list; did it include "Thou shalt not repeateth names of prospects in Bowman products"?

If so, I may have to throw my hat into the ring.

Very interesting, as I was the baseball editor. I love baseball.

The hours and pay SUCKED.

Ah, well at least it wasn't just a boring job that you went to every day only for the paycheck at the end of the week.

Until a few years ago, that would've been my dream job. Too late to uproot now, and I'm sure it wouldn't pay enough to enjoy a standard of living in NYC comparable to what I have now. If I'd even get it. But at least I'd maybe be able to jam Bake McBride into a couple more sets.

If I remember it paid like 37k which is ridiculous in NYC. You do get to put whomever you like into sets, which is a bit of a power rush. I thought about putting one of my buddies into set, and I think it would've been easy, but I surely would have been fired and possibly sued upon its release.

I feel like it's one of those jobs that would be awesome to do for a year and then be done with it. I covered hockey for 3 years and it was pretty amazing at the start because you get to go to all the games and you're in the locker room talking to superstars, but after a couple years it becomes a real grind. I was also doing it gratis, which didn't help. Then again, 37K in Manhattan would probably feel like you're not getting paid.

Wow, 37K is beyond lousy. I could make more in a year as a janitor. I guess that's the reason why Topps' brand quality has floundered, since they can't attract/retain high quality staff due to the meager salaries.

Thatis how I would describe it as well, and that is exactly what I did. It certainly got me back into collecting cards.

Yep. They have a high turnover in staff, which is why we get the same guys repeated in Bowman and all those other issues. The people at the bottom there are not treated all that great, because you are apparently supposed to be grateful to work there. Of course, in this economy, that may be true, and I'll bet the management hierarchy has improved since Eisman's group tookover, but I cannot recommend this job to anyone in good faith.

From the details listed, this looks to be a football job.

If the salary number is correct, it shouldn't suprise anyone.
Generally, the people who do the most work in any company get the least pay.

I'm not sure if they do it by sport anymore. When I was there, I was one of two baseball editors, and there was one basketball guy, one football guy, and one hockey guy. I know they don't do hockey anymore and am not sure about basketball. I think now they just have sports guys to do any/all sports.

What in the listing makes you think football? I didn't read too closely.
