Thanks to MuskiesFan incredible Inception card , I have become very interested in busting a case of Inception (due for release on 7/11/12). I do not have experience with Inception so looking for some thoughts, opinions, experience etc on this product. I really like this rookie class and would like to bust either Inception or Topps Chrome. I like the fact that Inception is out in the next month instead of Chrome which is not out until November. I'm leaning towards Inception since its a new product for me and comes with 2 autos. Thoughts?

go the easy way and do a little of both, I will be boxing out both sets. Hoping to do an Inception break.

Bust the Inception now, get some early hot sales, bank the money for Chrome in November. I remember the early silver autos in Inception last year sold for CRAZY amounts. I'm sure collectors will be as receptive and interested in Inception this year, so why not scratch your wax itch early and cash in at the same time?

because people end up getting discouraged when they pull practice players or cut players...they tend to lose motivation to buy more products

You should also factor in what kind of collector/seller/trader you are......

With Inception it will be a quicker break, but pretty much everything you get you're going to be able to throw up for auction.
With Chrome you'll have a whole lot more packs.....but then you'll have a ton more cards, sorting, etc. etc. Like I said, it depends what kind of collector you are, because to some that would be fun, and might want to begin putting the set together or whatever, but to others that kind of stuff is annoying.

I like both products as well, so personally (kind of like others were saying above) I'd probably talk myself into the fact I'd do well on the case, so I'd just get the Inception and figure I can potentially get money back to get the Chrome as well.

Punch inception in the face!!!! Sorry, I hate Topps and how they flood their boxes with common RCs, giving only a couple of high end RCs a big SP. If you hit one of the RCs, like Luck, RG3 or Richardson, you could be set... but after seeing what they have done in Bowman Sig and last year's inception, I'm saying FAR away from Inception. Go with Chrome, unless you LOVE to gamble.

Yeah, it seems to be a mixed bag on Inception. I will keep an eye on it and decide in a couple weeks. Still an little unsure as to whether or not I should take the gamble on it.

I'm not sure how much a case costs, but I might be willing to buy in for all of the Bengals cards, depending on the price point you'd be looking for.

I will make sure to let you know. I am also considering throwing Upper Deck in the mix even though its already been released. I have been watching some of the breaks and seem to like them more.

I appreciate it. Whether it be cases or boxes, just keep in mind on Bengals stuff.

Inception is a beautiful looking set, but you may be better off buying singles of the guys you like. Last year's Chrome did a very good job of providing value to people buying boxes, and retail as well.

Bust chrome and lock in early, it could zoom again in price like last year.
