Topps Magic First Impressions?

I wanted to see what others thoughts were on this product.
When I saw the checklist I knew it would be hit or miss, but looking at Ebay auctions, there are a lot of misses so far.
The duals and triples are nice, but I'm sure very tough to pull. I'm glad I didn't preorder any of these boxes. I will just pick up the Michigan guys and maybe bust a blaster when they hit retail.

To me, it looks like Topps doing a retro set for the sake of doing a retro set. Mayo was a critical bomb due to the crap that plagued the product's completeness, and this doesnt look like anything more than just trying to captialize on retro popularity.

I think it looks boring, and the college theme isnt in my field. Im waiting for Philadelphia, as that will be the better retro set, especially with some of the inscription cards that will be in it. Plus, there wont be as many college jerseys.

I love how they look. I don't bust any boxes and rarely bust packs, so buying the singles that I like will be nice.

I busted 6 packs yesterday and got two autos...looks nice but I think its very watered down bc non of them are numbered. There could be thousands of each player....

It was live and I was stupid to sell it so quick!! Im smacking myself now that I found out Ray lewis auto is a super SP auto!!! Could of waited and gotten more! Sucks for me!

the other auto i pulled is the Chad Pennington...and I haven't seen any selling on ebay besides the trio auto.....can that be an sp too?

Agreed. Don't open any of this stuff.

I kinda like the look of the cards but just stick to singles.

When I saw the checklist I knew it was not going to be good.
I'm glad I stuck with the one blaster. The only good ones I pulled today was Moreno and Stafford. All the veterans I pulled were pretty weak. I'm not sure if I pulled any SPs though.

Haven't opened any yet but will most likely do a base set with sp's.I have been picking up lots of my players on ebay for a few bucks.You can usually find a regular and mini version lot for a about $2.

Absolutely love the singles for my Mizzou guys, the Maclin/Daniel/Coffman triple is a Mizzou fans dream card! Great for the singles but I'm not buying a single pack of this.

Hey guys, went to my card shop the other day and he was busting some.... eh.... it's ok. He only got 2 autos and I don't remember who and it wasn't anything spectacular.....

I DID pick up some singles though, got Nelson, Josh Freeman and Josh Freeman mini and a mini black border Darren McFadden... I have a TON of cards I'm working on scanning, so when I do I'll post them up, but yeah, overall NOT impressed!!!
