Did you see my response? A lot of people believe most modern buybacks are warehouse stock. I don't even see why it's really an issue whether or not they were truly bought back.

I can understand if it was, say, the 93 SP Jeter rookie buyback autographs, or another card that has previously been in circulation coming from factory stock. The issue isn't really whether it was truly bought back (unless you actually have someone file some kind of claim to no avail with the BBB for faulty advertising), but instead the fact that they are re-releasing a card that has never been released in the first placed. I don't recall seeing a "buyback" that was never released before.

Does anyone have an instance of a "buyback" being a card that was never released in the first place?

I feel like I'm barking up the wrong tree, and nobody really gives a shat, but I guess I'm frustrated that a 2006 card that was never released, will now find it's way into circulation in [strike:2isztu1o]2010[/strike:2isztu1o] 2015 when Topps ships these out. Or maybe, just maybe, someone will get one of the uncirculated replacement autographs for this Pedroia when they ask for shipment.

It's not that nobody cares, it's just that it REALLY isn't that big of a deal to many people.

It was an unreleased card sitting in a stock room somewhere that they've decided to release -- no more, no less. No, it's not a "buy back" and I don't feel like it's really false advertising as much as "New and Improved" has actually been used to describe packaging being changed in other products. You're not supposed to say:

"Oh, look! Only cards that have been prviously been released!"

You are supposed to say:

"Oh, look! A huge giveaway of cards with the possibility of getting original 50's era Topps cards!"

Anything else, really, is just a bonus and could be added as a tagline to the "Cards your mom threw out" instead of declaring it false advertisement. If you want one, find a way to buy it, because it's really starting to look like sour grapes.

Some of the cards are supposed to be from their vault.. I noticed that some of the 2001 topps look different..

I've been trying to trade my 1989 Topps George Brett for one of these to see what they are.. no luck as of yet.

I'm pretty sure that's a HTA card, that was issued only in the HTA sets.

That is definitely an HTA card. I unlocked one of David Wells from 2001.
