1952s seem to be skip numbered in the database with A and B notations. I suspected it's something to do with the red/black borders in series 1 and other variations, but who knows.

I also was hoping that the cards would be marked somehow, like they've done with the Heritage buybacks the last couple years. Although a real big card would probably suffer for it, for the vast majority of cards, it would be a value-add. Maybe they could make it an option somehow, if they are doing it at all. Why can't they supply simple answers to these questions that they had to know would get asked within the first few seconds of announcement?

Hmm, I wonder if I can get someone to trade me a '52 Hi number. You know there's bound to be people out there who see they got a Bob Hooper or someone and would say, sure, I'll trade a couple Grifffeys for it.

How do you pull up the full card?

When I do a search, all I get are thumbnail pics.

Considering Topps cannot release an actual Rose card, they probably believe this to be the next best thing. It isn't.

I can't see how Topps would want to mark these in any way; as one poster noted: who would want to add anything to a real vintage Mantle? The one thing they could do is encapsulate it, and send a letter when you take delivery. The problem with this of course is such a process would be very expensive and unnecessary for most cards.

I think for the highend cards like the '52 Mathews would add value to it if the card were encapsulated and came with a letter stating that the cards in "X" holder bearing 'X" serial number came from Topps through this program.

I'm surprised we have not seen a '52 Andy Pafko yet.

I just looked to see how many Hendersons were unlocked. Total was 154 and about a 100 were 87 Topps.

Didn't anyone think to check if there actually was a '58 Jackie Robinson?

On the bright side, I do like that we apparently now have a fairly easy to use database of card images including backs. Maybe not all yet (no pic of 1952 #2 Runnels, for instance), but it's a good start. I'd like to work out what database ID numbers are the first and last card in each set.

Damn, I already received 3 trade offers on the Runnels! I have no clue on Vintage but here is what they are offering (each):

I saw 2 each of: Joe Muir, Mickey Vernon, Ray Boone & Walt Dubiel.

I don't think any of them were Hi-Number though.
