I'm wondering if this will get to the point (if it already hasn't) where scumbag's start stealing the #'s or the whole card's themselves from thier nearest Wal-Mart/Target outlet's...Aren't the rackpack's see through? :? If they are & you can maneuver the card to where the code is viewable then there are gonna be alot of unhappy camper's receiving "Code Already Redeemed" message's! ::facepalm::

Finger's crossed that this promotion doesn't get ruined! Also, to the member whom compared this promotion to gambling/lottery tickets- what do you think pack's are? :P They're basically lotto ticket's in a removeable wrapper, which supposedly was the initial reason behind the card companie's having to claim that thier product holds no set monetary value, or something along those line's, as there was an instance(s) where individual(s) were going to sue the card manufacturuer's claiming that they were addicted to busting pack's/boxes due to the gambling aspect of pulling that "big money card"....which IMO the reality of busting pack's is in large part due to "hitting that big card" which holds a set value and that is in fact gambling...but to sue the manufacturer's for your own ailment/disease is irresponsible (man-up & take accountability for your addiction, don't sue someone else because of your weakness)!
Just my opinion. :D

Lots of these are on fire.

I put in an offer of $12 for a lot of 10, with a bin of $14. The seller had 8 lots, and they were all sold out within minutes after.

Now, 10 card lots are fetching $20+

That is crazy. Why not just buy a card you want at that price?

Same reason folk's buy pack's/boxe's, to hit something that is worth more than you are paying (or the gambling aspect). :D

Looks like prices are approaching up to $3 per card now on some of the lots about to end in the next few hours. I had 15 sets of these in my hand for $150 yesterday and feel like a real freakin idiot right now for not buying them.

Here's to hoping I get another card or two from a blaster this weekend.

I likely won't have anything shipped unless I get something real good but this is addictive (even just seeing what others get as I've only redeemed one).

I'm seeing these creep up on $4 EACH now in lots! I just bought 100 of them for $124.99 - cashback of $10, so $114.99 off the bay. I couldn't resist, especially after missing out on a good deal last night of 150 for $150.00

Hi, i am a new member. Collected cards as a kid, then stopped for a very long time and sold all my cards on eBay. While selling all my cards i got addicted and now collect again and enjoying what my daughter calls a mid life crises.
I won big on the million card giveaway. I submitted 12 codes and got the 1956 Mantle.
I am a happy camper. Just wondering what the condition will be.
Do you think Topp's would actually ship me a creased Mantle card?

Did your ‘58 Jackie Robinson' get tossed out?
Didn't anyone think to check if there actually was a '58 Jackie Robinson?

On the bright side, I do like that we apparently now have a fairly easy to use database of card images including backs. Maybe not all yet (no pic of 1952 #2 Runnels, for instance), but it's a good start. I'd like to work out what database ID numbers are the first and last card in each set.

Damn, I already received 3 trade offers on the Runnels! I have no clue on Vintage but here is what they are offering (each):

Offer 1:
Vern Rapp 1978

Offer 2:
Bill Henry 1959
Bob Malkmus 1959
Elmer Singleton 1959
Carl Sawatski 1961
Al Neiger 1961
Jim Maloney 1961
Bob Allison 1962
Bob Aspromonte 1962

Offer 3:
Earl Averill 1960
Jim Dwyer 1979

I'm assuming all these are bad trade offers right? Help! lol

Yeah, those are sucker offers. Pafko, the #1 card, is a high-priced item because it's #1, and a Dodger besides. Runnels is not of that magnitude, but can be a pretty valuable card in nice condition.

I'd get rid of that puppy like a girlfriend with ******. No way you're getting a good condition card. Bank it while you can and buy a good copy off of eBay.

There's no telling, but I'd suspect the card shown in the site would be the card you'll get, if there's only one. Looks acceptable to me.

How would he go about getting rid of it though? As far as I know, Topps has not set up any fail-safe way of selling these online.

Be creative. Sell it to someone that has an account and then trade it for the money and one of the billion 1987 Pete Rose cards.

Right. But what assures they give you the money, or that you give them the card? Or that they don't file a chargeback as soon as you give them the card?

To the best of my knowledge, this isn't linked with eBay like eTopps is.

I'm sure being a BD helps the value, but I didn't think it was the main reason for the high price and I don't think being card #1 had anything to do with it the price, but rather what happened as a result of it being card #1...I always thought the Pafko was high priced b/c people would store these cards with rubber bands around them and with Pafko being #1, the sides were often damaged more than other cards by the elastic bands, no?
