I am looking for a fun way to advertise so I figured I would ask for help here.

When this goes live, I would like to start a freedomcardboard.com account.

Now you ask yourselves, how can I help. After you submit your codes, if you get any cards you do not want (mainly looking for junk, it would be cool to build an 1989 topps set though ;) ), mainly 80s commons that book less than $.50 a piece.

If you would like to donate your codes, the following steps will be taken.
codes will be redeemed
user who donated the codes will be told what was given
user decides weather they want them back or not
if they do, the card will be traded to their account
if not they will stay in the FCB account

If you think this is a crappy idea, post that you hate it so I can take this post down.

any thoughts?

Sure as hell works for me. Only thing I'd actually want would be legitimate vintage. Shoot me a PM when it's live, and I can shoot you 6 or 7 codes.

From reading the website you can trade cards in their system. If this is true, I would much rather have you redeem the cards them selves and then give me the ones you do not want.

Love it.

I'll probably redeem the codes myself, but as far as I understand, I can trade them to another account.

Hopefully you can grow it to the point where you can write a kick-arsed article after donating the cards..

ok, since the first few posts did not call me an ********

What set do you guys want to build?

I would love to put an entire set together for its and giggles.

would anyone have a problem with the account trading non set crappy cards for set crappy cards?

Make some valid suggestions

mainly 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 90 topps are the likely candidate. Very large sets that are not worth anything.

I am shooting for vintage so I am open to any ideas. I actually just ordered 10 more cards, I think I am going to stop at 40. At around 1$ each I figured why not.

My guess is that you should wait. they should drop in value greatly after they are revealed.

Do you mean until total meltdown due to shipping costs or expiration date (2/1/11)?

I doubt that 10% will be redeemed. Maybe 20%.

which I freaking plan to change as we have a crapload of wax busters.

Redeem the codes and if the cards suck, send them to freedomcardboard.com ;)

I love this picture they use. If this isnt telling you everything you need to know, I don't know what will. A Jackie Robinson on a stack of 1989 topps

What's the over/under on how many 1,000s of the redemption cards end up in the trash?

I will go with 600,000 if a million total are packed out. Some will expire in unopened product, many will redeem the code and toss it since it's not useful anymore. Some will keep the redemption along with their vintage cards in-hand and some will just keep the redemption card as part of their set or in their PC as a memory of the promotion.

No way in **** your gonna get my 1984 Gary Gaetti

Right on! You're saving it for me, right? ;)

I have about a dozen codes. I think there should be a sticky thread for people to post when they actually get something of note. If all I get are a bunch of nothing, then I have no problem trading (giving) them to the freedom account.
