I'd be down with giving them to FCB. Unless I get some good vintage.

Any word on whether these will have any special markings on them (Emossings/Stampings)? If they are, these will all be 1/1s  .

As for a set, I would like to see a 1986 (Harold Reynolds RC year) or 1989 (Randy Johnson RC Year).

Also, if you want them shipped to us, is Topps paying the bill or are the collectors required to pay for shipping?

Once I heard you can trade them that pretty much sealed the deal for me, sounds like we will.

I wonder how the site is going to react on the 15th. Imagine how many people are all going to try and redeem the cards at the same time.

Thinking about buying some on ebay. Is it a ten card set with just numerous cards printed the different codes?

LMK so I know what I'm doing

Thanks

So after you redeem the card, it actually will tell you what card you are expecting? I have 28 at home that I was gonna dump as a lot, but I wouldnt mind redeeming them and donating crappy ones.

Well yes its a 10 card set (if you want to call it that) as in there are 1-10 numbered cards. But to be honest the code is all that matters, you have the same odds at a 89 topps card on 10 Thurman Munsons as you do on 10 different cards.

I don't see why the value on these would drop, they're going to give away prizes based on what cards you have in your portfolio (like if you have the most cards of a certain player or year etc.)

You can also get autograph/relic buybacks instead of base cards when you redeem your code

How awesome would it be to actually build the 1988 set, order it online (I am assuming ~$20 for shipping 792 cards), and they just send you a factory 1988 set which you can buy for $10 delivered.

Great idea though - it would be cool just to have a giant online portfolio of thousands of Topps commons owned by the group. Sort of like The Bench's YSL set, but without any sort of charity angle. I'm not implying that there should be any charity angle at this point, but just like collecting, it would be fun to do just for its own sake.

That's what I thought as well. Who else on earth will be able to possibly build a complete 700 card set, regardless of how worthless it is.

I hope that Mantle they show at 1:13 isn't the one they are giving away.

Doesn't look original to me!
