Just a FYI for those waiting. I got my UPS confirmation today. But, it only listed 2 cards. I was supposed to receive 3. Both were commons and third was a $250 bv card so I'm hoping that something "didn't happen" to the card (as in somebody pocketed it at Tri-star).

I called topps this morning and this is the second time in 2 days that someone has reported something like this to them and so it's "new" to them. They are forwarding a message to the fulfillment center and will let me know by email on the status.

Sigh...I'd rather have that one card and they can keep the 2 commons! lol :benson:

It's a Pete Runnels 1952 Topps RC.

Hate to say it but that sounds like someone at the packing and distribution center is dipping in and helping themselves.

Sorry to hear about this. I would think Topps will get you the card one way or another.

On a lighter note, you could always hire Jeff and have him sue them on your behalf. You could pay him in grab bags :benson:

Yeah, if I don't receive that card...I would expect a card or product equal to the BV of the Runnels. I'm going to raise some hell no doubt!

Re: Topps Million Redemption Problem...

UPDATE!

I got the package...only had the 2 cards...will scan and post later.

Then, I called the number on the return address. It's actually a "small marketing company" sending these out (not Topps themselves or Tri-star)! I talked to the lady on the return label and she assured me that there was some "back order" issues they were having and that my missing card would be mailed today, UPS for delivery on Monday!

Whew, glad it's on the way!

Re: Topps Million Redemption Problem...UPDATE!

Here are the scans. I didn't know these cards are bigger than the standard card sizes now. Take a look at the card "filling up" toploader!

The Martin is in a hella better condition than the Jackson! Still nice cards, my first "vintage" cards (other than my 2 T-206 buybacks!).

Re: Topps Million Redemption Problem...UPDATE!

Got my Runnels! They just threw the card (in toploader) into a bubble mailer and mailed it...don't they know anything about these 1952 cards?! ::facepalm::

Anyway, here they are...should I even bother grading it or just leave it as is?

Leave as is. Just enjoy them. Let me know if the '56s are available for trade. I think I need both for my set.

Not sure on grading, doesn't look like it would grade all that well to these untrained eyes. But congrats on getting the Runnels!

Ok, cool. I think I'll hold on to all 3 cards. Just cool to hold some "vintage" cards for a change!

Anyway, I was thinking of grading for protection more than anything..I know it's like a PSA 1 or 2!

Oh my! Those are not pretty. I'm sorry - I'm not trying to rag on your cards. Just the fact that I have 126 of the 1956s in my portfolio has me wondering if I should just trade them off and try to consolidate to a couple singles that are higher in value. I was gonna make a set of 56s, but that's not the kind of condition I'd want in a set and the raw ones I have been picking up are in much nicer shape.

I am very happy to hear you got the Runnels.

If anything I'd just have it slabbed as authentic, so as to rule out trimming and such.

Interesting...hmm...maybe I will do that at Hofstra this weekend! Thanks.
