With Topps now pushing UP bowman chrome, bowman chrome and topps Chrome are releasing within 2 days of each other. What idiot at Topps thought this was a good idea? Who does this benefit? Collectors? Nope. Stores? Nope? Group breakers? Nope. Large wax rippers? Nope. Jesus H C, get a freaking damn clue people. Oh, and to top it off, Topps finest will follow in a couple weeks. Now that I'm really excited for football season and wanting to open some football cards Topps finally releases the baseball cards I would have loved 3 months ago. Oh well saves me some money lol.

*sigh* another bash topps post.....
This thread is a pretty legit complaint though, especially from someone who sells box breaks like Ballerskrip.
I love Topps, but their marketing and scheduling people are often idiots.

You don't see a bunch of bash Topps posts from me personally. This type of silly business practice has an effect on many people negatively, and I can't find the positive impact on anyone. And yes, this has a direct, negative impact on those of us who 10-20 cases of these products on order. But, as we know, Topps doesn't give a crud.

It has to do with quarterly sales, if you see a company releasing a ton of products near or at the end of a month, it's about the quarterly sales numbers

That's a great point. Not only is it the end of the month, it's also the end of the quarter (Q3).

"Oh, the products delayed for 2 months! Boo Topps!"

"Oh, the products are coming out too fast! Boo Topps!"

Can't win for losing.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but: the only people this effects are those that make money off the secondary market. Topps, if they look at this from a pure "collecting" stand-point (which is arguable that they ever do), only sees this as "look at how much product and how many options we are providing collectors."

A collector or kid just sees his/her card store or retail card section flush with product. They'll buy it when they can and be happy that there are a bunch of options.

However, in reality, it's probably 100% related to the quarterly revenue item.

I was saving up to make this point. :) Thank you. The only people this affects are the re-sellers of the product; and, it's questionable as to how much they're even affected. To the end consumer, the single or wax buyer, the effect is lower prices, which allows them to buy more wax... which increases the re-sellers profit by selling more for a lower price, vs. less for a higher price.

So, it's not a bad thing. It's a good thing.

And they hit 2 different parts of the collecting community.

So I see what everyone is saying. In long run maybe not too big of a deal. Just the initial shock needs to wear off a little.

If you're talking quarterly numbers they could probably release two products every quarter and make their numbers being as they're the only licensed manufacturer and delay everything until December if they wanted and still make money. Hence the XXXXty product and why we need somebody else in the game licensed

Even Master P knows this is ludicrous. Back in the late 90's No Limit Records would release an album every single Tuesday. This would be like releasing a TRU album on Tuesday and Big Ed the Assassin CD on Friday. Just plain dumb.
