The other day I picked up my package of Topps Diamond giveaway cards that I had shipped to me. I really didn't think anything of it, as I don't remember redeeming anything of any value. I just wanted them to send me my cards before the offer expired.

When I finally got around to opening the package, there was a weird package inside. The regular redemption cards were stacked in toploaders and wrapped with a rubber band. Behind that pack, was a single card in it's own case inside a separate bag. It took me a minute to realize what it was:

Chad Billingsley Diamond Anniversary 1 of 1. It's a thick card, like a GU.

I am not a huge Dodgers fan, so anybody want to guess what this is worth?

Comments welcome, especially if you received your diamond redemptions and had a surprise.

Thanks,

Congrats on your surprise!

My surprise is that they weren't able to send a 1971 Jeff Torborg along with the other cards in my delivery order and 2-3 weeks later they still haven't fulfilled that backordered card.

So you didn't uncover this in entering your codes and they just sent it when you asked for shipment of what was in you account?

That is an incredible surprise! Not sure how you didn't realize you had won it, but must have been a great feeling to open up the package and find that!

I just took a look at my history and I did dig up a 2011 Billingsley, but there was no mention of 1/1. It looked like just the regular card from the base set.

Thanks for the input everyone.

The person that redeemed that is going to be pissed off.
Seriously, you should give Topps a call if you didn't redeem that but still got it. May think it's fun to screw Topps, but you may be screwing a Billingsley collector out there that already spent big bucks on that. You never know, Topps may offer you a reward for returning it - or they may just say keep it.
