Topps Unique Laundry Tag Help

There's a Jacoby Ellsbury 1/1 tag on ebay right now and the little MLB authentication sticker is on it too, it reads BB 692383. That number comes up on MLB site as "Team Issued Jersey". I have several game worn and MLB certified Red Sox pants and hats worn in the postseason and it says so on the authentication site , it doesn't say "team issued" but "game worn" and when as well. I own a "team issued" Reggie Wayne Miami U jersey w/ a cert from the school that says not worn in a game but team issued. Is this a big deal?

Whoa thats a pretty bug deal, people have been paying decent cash for these.

MLB will not authenticate a jersey as game worn if one of its authenticators is not present at the game, and basically when the jersey comes off. Resultingly, some game used jerseys are authenticated as game issues.

All the same, that's not a discrepancy that you can resolve without seeing the full jersey, which isn't exactly possible anymore (unless Topps took a picture, that is, but obtaining it would be all but impossible). I wouldn't be pleased either.

I know. Other than a few swatches that get put on cards with a MLB holo that can be looked up there's absolutely know way to really know.

Its why i put so little value on GU cards. At least on autographs you have something to compare it to because the player has other signed cards. The best you can do with jersey cards is compare the colors. But like 75% are just plain white or grey swatches and I would be stunned if they all came from the actual player
