I was wanting to complete the set originally. I bought 2 10 card lots and figured they would be all different #s and I might have to pick 1 or 2 up to make it complete. I never expected Darvish to be #8.... but Ill gladly take 15 of him. I know these wont ship til March of 2011. And if his cards are popular... his Bowman Chrome cards will be far more popular (Blue Ref, Gold Ref, Orange Ref)

He has said he wants to get 200 wins in Japan before ever considering MLB. So he wont set foot in the US for another 6-8 years if thats the case.

And I hammered P_Manning a while back for whining prematurely for this post/thread...

Just bought a 10 card lot of the WBC redemptions off ebay from 1 seller. Had him send me the codes via email and Id leave feedback so that way he could take his time shipping them. I just got done entering them. I got 4 of #4 and 6 of #8. WTG Topps. I kinda liked how the redemptions didnt have the #s on them so some would be worth more while others would be crap.... but after going through this... not sure it worth it to even buy anymore.

Thanks Topps

I wonder if he's still upset.

Thats because hes a jerk

  You love me.... you really love me. :D

Guess I got lucky for once. Never expected Darvish to be #8 (If true... not currently on topps.com).... and I have 15 #8s in total.

I don't know why people are investing in Darvish. He's already stated that he has no plans to leave Japan to join an MLB team.

Name one foreign player (in any sport other than soccer, which doesn't have the most popular league in the world in our country) whose cards sell well in the US. Ichiro, Matsui, Matsuzaka, etc cards didn't sell here when they still played overseas. European basketball players' cards don't sell well until they get drafted. No one gives a crap about CFL players. Someone explain how, after the WBC hype dies down, will Darvish stuff maintain any kind of long term value? Japanese professional baseball isn't shown in our country, and I bet he'll be yesterday's news in two months

baseball is expanding globally, count on it.

Yu Darvish stuff would have sold well before the WBC as well.

Card collectors are notorious for growing "bored" with what is currently available. I really think you'll see a more global collecting feel over the next few years.
