Wow.

Johnson seems to have been a target of AA's for quite some time now. He was excellent as recently as last year.

I really like Hill and would love to see him turn it around in Arizona but it's looking like his ship has sailed.

Johnny Mac is quite possibly the biggest fan favourite in Jays history. Seriously, if they retired his jersey tomorrow, nobody would protest. Great glove, no bat. I'll miss him, too.

Johnson's a free agent so I assume they're either inking him to an extension now or taking the picks. I assume he's a Type B. But my guess is extension.

I'm getting used to saying this with Anthopolous but: I love the looks of this.

Same here.
If pitching get better next year, they could challenge for a playoff spot.

Definitely digging Aaron Hill coming over.

It's impossible to dislike Aaron Hill. Despite being quite literally one of the worst players in baseball over the past two years, I haven't really ever heard him get booed.

Other than Halladay there's not a former Jay I'll root harder for but I do worry he's pretty much done for.

Good trade for both teams. Aside from the instant replacement for Johnson with Hill, AZ gets to dump Ransom and replace him with an all around better back up in McDonald. I'm confident Hill will outperform Johnson for the rest of the season, which could very well help AZ keep first place and make the playoffs.

Sad to see both Hill and Johnny Mac leave.

2 Jays I truly wish the best for.

I really hope Hill can turn it around in a new environment.

The Arizona fans will love Johnny Mac for sure.

He's a real class act that guy!

I know all I need to know. They're in the same division as the Yankees AND the Red Sox. Pretty funny joke that guy posted up there about a playoff spot. Homerism is great, eh?

If the Rays can do it twice in three years, the Jays can do it as well.
But...i won't bet on it
By the way, i'm not a Jays fan.

Hmmmmm. Interesting.
I do hope that Hill turns it around as he was a favorite. But seeing him play in person last month he is not even close to being the same player that he was prior to his breakout season in '09. The mojo seems to have disappeared.

Johnny Mac as helpless as he was at times did have his moments. Great in the field and in the clubhouse he should become a fan favorite.

Not sure what to make of Kelly johnson. Looking at his stats he should have a good year next year. I wonder if this puts Hechevarria on the fast track to the majors.

If they had a decent closer things would be different. Enough to challenge for the wildcard like last yr? Without a doubt. Marcum was a huge loss...the younger guys need a rock solid vet to guide them.

Hated to see Hill go, he'll do ok in the Arizona rarified air. They were saying Johnny Mac most likely be back next yr.

Nice to see both Hill and Johnson having some early success with their new teams:

Hill- 34 PA- .355/.412/.581 (.993 OPS)- 1 HR
Johnson- 36 PA- .367/.462/.733 (1.206 OPS)- 2 HR

Man, I hope Hill succeeds in Arizona. Can't not root for him.
