Pence's value is purty much what Matt Holliday was when Oakland traded him. Astros need bodies while saving money.

Giants gets Hunter Pence

Astros getting a trio of Brandon Crawford, Thomas Neal, Eric Surkamp, and Charlie Culberson would get this job done

Want to keep one of the first two, maybe Surkamp, Verdugo and Culberson?

Im interested to see who the Cubs can get for half there team. Aramis just said he will waive his no trade clause. If the Cubs eat enough of Sorianos contract I hope they package him Aramis and others to the Yanks for some nice prospects

So far this thread is just ridiculous. I thought it said "rumors" like linking to a source, or a quote from an analyst. Not something you just got to work on MLB 2k11 for your playstation. That deal is not even close to the value that Hunter Pence has, don't let his awful team and market fool you. Also how could you compare this to Holiday? The athletics signed him to a one year deal just to trade him at the break, and oh yeah at the time they got back a player, who many considered to be an elite prospect.

So basically am Keith law and Ken Rosenthal all in one? Thanks

The Pirates are looking at the Orioles' Koji Uehara. Kinda hoping the Braves got in on Koji with the fear Venters/Kimbrel might be getting tired.

Rasmus/Freese for Storen/Zimmerman plus future PTBNL or cash considerations

Ummmm, NO chance. Zimmerman isn't going anywhere, and he would bring more than rasmus and freese on his own, let alone giving up storen and case.

I don't know what that means, obviously no one is perfect and I am certainly not a fan of Law, and Onley for that matter, but there are people out there that actually get credible information and legitimate "talks" or "rumors." The stuff you made up that you thought would get Pence was absolutely ludicrous. Pence is a young star.

Would the Astros be interested in something around Jonathan Sanchez?

No, but I hear we really like minor league relievers. Although I will miss Keppinger, the Jose Altuve era has begun.

As for Sanchez, the Astros are looking to cut payroll and he doesn't really fit that bill. The Astros aren't really looking to improve the team as much as improve the bottom line for our new owner.

They're saying that the Reds would have to part with Mesoraco in a trade for Jimenez. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/07/ubaldo-jimenez-rumors-wednesday.html

I just lost interest in Jimenez. I think Mesoraco could be a star. I would much rather see his talents everyday than continue to watch the platoon of Hanigan/Hernandez. I like both catchers, but I believe Mesoraco would outperform both of them. Landing Jimenez instantly helps the staff, albeit would only be temporary. I don't see him staying in Cincinnati after his contract is up. Which means Mesoraco is better for the Reds long term.

Hahaha, NO. He is ridiculously poised and we wouldn't need a prospect, we would need Beltran plus another quality major leaguer. He has been really good and is only 21, can't wait for him to "learn how to pitch", he will be a top 10 pitcher in the next 5 years.

If you wanted Bumgarner it would start around Reyes.

Hope tomorrow is exciting like today was:

Where will Denard Span, Bj Upton, Jamie Carroll, Carlos Quentin, Health Bell, Mike Adams be after tomorrow and will the Cubs do anything to help themselves ?
