Trade Deadline Thread

i keep waiting for the capitals to make a trade. i hope they make some trade, as long as its not just plain stupid. hopefuly they will have a new team when i come home from school trade deadline day

I'd be shocked if they do anything big, or even much at all.

That team right now fulls under the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" category right now.

true, but its far from perfect. i would not be happy if the pens have a good deadline and we dont do nothin. here are some problems i see

1. Steckel belongs on the 4th line with gordon and bradley
2. we need a good stay at home blue liner, just schultz dosent cut it.
3. it would be great if we could get a goalie. with varly being hurt, and theo having consistensy problems, a goaltender would be great.
4. we have cap room, use it

I am so happy with this trade. it sucks that they gave up Caputi but the Leafs were asking for Goligoski or Tyler Kennedy. I had very high hopes for Caputi but I am extremely happy to get Ponikarovsky to play on Malkin's line. also glad to see them take Skoula.

Yeah man I see Pony and Malkin working great together! Yeah Leafs had to take Skoula for this deal to become reality.... They will leave him in the minors if they can't flip him for peanuts tommorow.

I think Caputi will fit in well with the Leafs next season. he is a very highly rated prospect and just needs a little more time in the AHL but will prove to be a good pickup for the Leafs.

hopefully the Pens will be able to resign Ponikarovsky after the season as he is a UFA.
