Here's the deal...

Someone picks up a rare card for cheap that has high book value and sits on it until no history of sales.
They list it asking for offers. They don't want to put market value, because they bought it for the sole purpose of profit, and if someone makes an offer, they know they have an interested buyer, and will get the most they can out of that buyer.

Otherwise, there isn't much other reason why a seller wouldn't be willing to list a price.

I say if you are a seller trying to flip, use ebay...but when dealing with board members, bend over to make them a good deal, within reason.

To REQUIRE to list prices will never be mandatory, but buyers should just beware or boycott sellers that aren't willing to give you a price...

IMO

I think this answers your question in the post previous to this one as to why this thread won't die.

Mandawg, you've been "Thanked"!

 I was going to say this exact thing (he asks "why this thread won't die?" & then pops in with another controversial response that can potentially bait those who are not in favor of it being "mandatory" to put price's on everything they list!

i was saying i thought it should die because you know it will never be mandatory...i guess it didn't come out the way i meant...i mean was this thread a voting to see if it would be? like if a majority agreed, then it would be? of course it will always be controversial... :D

When most people want to sell their cards they know what they want for them so why not just list the prices? I never understood the whole "buyer must make an offer" game.

Why should it matter to anybody how one conducts their business? I don't think it is right that you are trying to force people into posting their prices. If they get an offer they like, they'll accept it. Why should FCB try and interfere?

Holy over-reaction Batman!

Also, since someone is throwing around big words they dont understand, let me add a definition for you...

totalitarian / Show Spelled Pronunciation [toh-tal-i-tair-ee-uhn] Show IPA
–adjective 1. of or pertaining to a centralized government that does not tolerate parties of differing opinion and that exercises dictatorial control over many aspects of life.
2. exercising control over the freedom, will, or thought of others; authoritarian; autocratic.

Now that you have the definition, why dont you do me a favor and explain how your assertion can be true when the point of the thread is a POLL to let the members choose...

Re: TRANSACTIONS POLL! POSTING PRICES MANDATORY?

When is the poll going to end? Just curious as it seems that the voting has shown the majority does not want a "mandatory" pricing rule on the transaction board's & nothing productive is coming out of this thread, as it now seems it is only turning to bickering & bashing. If it ain't broke... :D

Why are you coming across this way (what have I done to you)? My use of smiley's annoys you? I have been paying attention & I have personally done quite well on the transaction board's. I guess we have a difference of opinion on this but it shouldn't really come to going after my "smiley's" (they never did anything to you either). :D

Actually, *********, I am quite well aware of what totalitarianism is. It's absolute power.

By forcing us to do transactions how you want us to do them, this is absolute power. It was merely a joke that you felt you somehow needed to get involved in.

And the point is to poll? The point is actually to get feedback, which I clearly did. I suggest you reread my responses, bright one.
