Travis Hafner December mail: Logos, buttons, 1/1's, etc.

Here are the additions to my Hafner PC over the past month. It was a busy month, which is surprising for this time of year.

2/5 - This was an interesting find. I had already completed the set of 5 in numerical order, and then this second copy #'d 2/5 appeared on Ebay. I know that flightposite and some other members had found more than five copies of their player, but I was beginning to wonder if Hafner was an exception. Guess not.

I need the yellow plate to complete the set.

I need the black plate to complete this set.

It's been a good month of mail when you can't end with an MLB logo autograph as the highlight. I was stunned when the card below hit Ebay a few weeks ago, mostly because I had no idea that it even existed. When I looked over the 2009 Triple Threads checklist, Hafner had no cards in 2009 Triple Threads, at least I thought that was the case. For some reason I skipped over his one and only card in the set:

It's his only game-used letterman card, and as far as I know his only legitimate card where Chief Wahoo appears in his entirety.

Awesome stuff! Those last few high-dollar game-used cards look nice, but I bet you were just as excited to win the 2004 Leaf Limited auto so you could cross an "older" card off your list.

I was smart enough to subscribe to your photobucket a few months ago and I have been lucky enough to see all these cards already but it's still amazes me every time I look at the Triple Threads.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. This month of mail was easily the best that I've had in quite some time. I'm extremely thankful for the chance to add both the Unique MLB logo/auto and the Triple Threads tri-fold patch.

Dadofandrew: Ordinarily I would be all over that Finest red refractor, but I snagged a copy last year. If you come across any other nice Hafner cards in the future definitely don't hesitate to track me down.

Sly: I'll be here if you ever decide to move any of your Hafner collection. I almost PM'd you about a few cards 2-3 months ago, but I didn't want to pressure you. I know you mentioned on the old BMB that you were never going to part with the DK painting and I don't blame you one bit. That is an amazing piece.

mrwhitesox30: I actually had a copy of that Leaf Limited auto, but just decided to pick up a 2nd one. If I had known what was going to pop up on Ebay shortly afterwards I likely would have laid off of it.

Brett Keith: It's inconvenient in the sense that the tri-fold cards have no holder to easily display them, but for a card that beautiful I'm willing to put up with it. I saw the Upton bat barrel/auto card in the other thread just before you posted here. It had to be worth every penny judging from the looks of it.

Daveyou: Thanks for posting the YouTube video. I was completely unaware of it's existance. It was a strange feeling seeing it pulled from a pack after having it safely in hand.

Pghbuccos: You take the fun out of threads like this when you look at the cards in my Photobucket beforehand.
In all seriousness, I'm glad you saw them and that you enjoyed the pickups.
