It's a sad day for football, as he's one of the greatest of this era, and has cemented himself as a first ballot Hall of Famer. It might be a while until we see somebody like Ray Lewis again.

However, his son Ray Lewis III will be beginning his collegiate career this coming season, so the name of "Ray Lewis" could be on fields for years to come. After Ray3 graduates, I'm hoping Ray Lewis takes some kind of coaching job with Miami, back where his incredible journey began.

The Football Life documentary by NFL Network was incredible. It made me look at him in a while new light. Kudos to him for walking away while he still can.

I can't believe so many people laud this guy after what happened in 2000. To each their own I guess.

Sadly, most people have short memories or a decidedly flexible outlook on what's important, or moral for that matter...

Were you there? I wasn't. How do either of us know what really went down? Aside from media reports we know nothing about what happened.

He made a poor decision to help out a friend. Maybe he didn't even change his mind because he knew it was wrong, but did it because of legal pressure. People do dumb things when they're scared, and they often do just about anything for those they love. If it were us in his shoes and one of our closes friends (the kind you'd call "family" even with no blood relation) who did that and we just saw what we did, are we all really sure what we'd do? It's easy to say yes, we would do the right thing, but being there and doing it isn't as easy as turning in a wallet found on the sidewalk. I can't say I wouldn't make the same mistake in that split second and come to my senses later.

No but I wasn't there during the OJ incident either.

Can you verify that? The killer has still never been found.

You talking about OJ? Or Lewis? It doesn't matter. People will believe what they want to believe, right? If Ray Lewis has nothing to hide, he would not have "lost" his white suit.

I'm really not going to get into a debate about it. The facts are there for anyone that chooses to read about it. Just do a little research.

It's just funny how the media is not even mentioning this.

I was making a joke about the OJ murders. My humor does a terrible job of translating over the internet. Same can be said for in-person, too.
