Morning all. Just got done with our monthly food safety meeting. Going to be a slow day around the office. Going to try and sneak out for Bennett's telehealth visit with his kidney doctor this afternoon. Went up to the town Jayme teaches in last night. She had some chamber bucks to spend that she got from the school and some students, so we went to the butcher shop up there. I'd say I know my meat and cheese pretty well. She had $60 to spend in there, and walked out of there with a grand total of $61.94, and that's with nothing having prices on it
The Chiefs will be heading 22 minutes west. To Kansas. They are getting a $3 billion stadium at the Kansans expense. A few months ago, I voted against the renewal of the tax to pay for a new stadium in Jackson County Missouri. We are now at risk of losing the Royals. No regrets.
The taxes in my area are too high. We pay sales tax, property tax on things we already purchased (homes, land & vehicles) and earnings tax on our wages. We have passed lottery, gambling boats (that are not even boats!), legalized recreational & medical marijuana and online sports gambling. Recently we had a recall vote to oust our county executive, Frank White. For the property tax fiasco. Some people's property taxes went up 400% while others decreased. Some elderly people that have lived in their homes for 40+ years are looking at losing them for not paying taxes. Our government and schools should be rich. They claim they are not. Well, someone's getting rich.
It's time that the billionaire sports team owners decide where the want to play and build their own stadiums.
Massachusetts has always had very high taxes on everything. Besides people from other states calling us Massholes. We call the state taxachusetts. They even have a unique name for taxes. User fees. The only good taxes we have is millionaires being taxed.
