Good morning Men.

You know what amazes me? There isn't a single Rice button card.
What do they do with all of the buttons from the jersey's they use?
What, do "they" acquire them buttonless? Something I will never understand.......

Maybe there is a better card out there for your PC?

The only thing I can tell myself is that for that money I can buy a couple or several other Dawson cards I need. I have won 13 of his other auctions so far today.

Gotta be happy when you land 13 cards of your favorite player.

Yea, you'll be good Hawk... I'm sure you'll be able to put that $275 towards a number of more cards he has. Although (IMO) it's a crazy one of one type of card, you can't win them all and it's not like it was a 1/1 and odds are you'll see another button of his again sometime.

Thats how i look at it. I could spend 20 on a single card, or get almost twenty other cards. But on the other hand...

if its a card you have been wanting for a long period of time, a card that is basically your white whale (or a nameplate ;)), then i say pull the trigger and revel in the fact that you have finally acquired the pinnacle of your collection. From here on out its smooth sailing with your collection.

and frame your white whale in a museum type frame and hang it over your mantle with the proper lighting.

Honestly my white whales go back to his playing career, when I was collecting him heavily before I took my leave of absence. My number one would be the 1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold. All this new stuff, I know I will never have it all, I know I have to pick and chose so it is good, just sucks lol

Well just found out that I now have 2 papers due within the next week for the same class. One over Fidel Castro due this Thursday and then one over a reading that was just assigned due next Tuesday.

Hawk- sorry to hear about the button. There were a couple of Denard Span cards listed, one being a 2002 Bowman Chrome gold refractor /50 and an UD USA red ink auto /20. They were both listed higher than I was willing to pay, bith listed BIN/OBO at $70. The guy wouldnt budge on his price. I have since acquired a red ink auto and I paid no more than $15 for it

At that price, how far away would you be from a complete jersey that comes with lots of buttons (and that you could actually wear if so inclined)?
Unfortunately if we all thought this way, we wouldn't own nearly as many cards as we do ;)

Exhibit A: Full game used bat for Albert Belle is ~$100. I own three, so that's a good number... BUT I've purchased many more cards for more than that number

Morning boys.

That's just stupid money for that button. No way in hell it should've gone that high.

So far I've one the first of two of his auctions I set s snipe for.
Hawk8 you really need to start using gixen.com...I was asleep when I won my first auction.

Yea, gixen is king... no reason to be bidding on an item like that throughout the week and not just sit tight and put in your max with seconds to go

And now unfortunately I ended up 1/2 for what I had snipes for because obviously Hawk8 didn't see my pm in time.

Could've won the second card for $5.50

I have struck a preliminary deal to acquire the Adam Dunn 1/1 bat knob from Museum Collection. I'm sending a Dunn patch /20 and $40 PP for it. I just need to raise the PP now.

I wish I had some stuff to move to pick up the Adam Dunn 1/1 A&G bat barrel on ebay. It's signed by Ryan Howard on one side and has a Dunn bat barrel name plate on the other side. $425 OBO. I would love to have it, but I have no real way to raise the funds.

Wow, that's a crazy deal for the knob. Congrats!

I think Belle has a knob out there but it hasn't surfaced... my wallet is hoping it doesn't for a while.

I appreciate it. It really is a great deal. The guy said he wanted the card to go to a real collector. I'm glad he thought of me and was easy to work a deal with.
