Tulo's HR's are split evenly at 6 (Home/Away), he has 4 more doubles away than he does at home, and his away average is only 10 points lower than his seasonal average. I'd say this would be typical for most players. Coors field has the humidor now.
He still has a dramatic home/road split. .934 OPS at home vs. .805 on the road. Very good numbers either way, though.
That said, he's never been a great player on the road. Career splits are 855 vs 739. Coors has definitely helped him to this point.
And even assuming Coors doesn't play a part, 60 points of batting average is a HUGE difference. The most valuable play a hitter can make is not making an out.
Hits are great, but the most valuable play is the Grand Slam. With the 40 extra AB's and all the extra hits Hanley has to have such a high avg, he's only scored 5 more times that Tulo and has 10 more RBI. Judging by their careers thus far, Tulo will likely catch him in RBI.

Well seeing he has only played one full season and hit .291 i would call that close to .300.
He only played in 101 games last year and i think it was due to an injury. He slumped really bad for most of the first half of the season. I really see him picking it up.
I however will wait to make a comment on who is better until Tulo has a few full seasons under his belt.
If i had to choose one right now for my team i would take Tulo and his 1 mil a year contract over Hanleys $5.5.

Tulo signed a 6 year $36 million contract with the Rockies before the 08 season. However, I'd assume both Tulo's and Hanley's contracts are stair stepping contracts.

Here's an interesting statistic:
At least as of last week, Coors Field was not in the top 5 parks in highest average or most homers. Two of the fields I believe were on this list were Camden Yards and Citizens Bank.

Not HR, but highest park factor for Runs.

Didn't notice that. Interesting.[/quote:159ag3xx]
If you look at past park factors Florida isn't as consistently high as Coors. The home vs. road split could just be because they field a young team that plays better at home.

This was a portion of my argument as well.
BTW, the only thing that could make hitting 2 bombs cooler is doing it off a pitcher that nearly took your head off and after starring him down...were you watching it live? It looked like Tulo was very irritated.
