Twins PRE-Game show to start at...2am???

Just heard this at the end of the Twins telecast. Tomorrow is the first regular season game at Target Field. Yes, this is a big day for Baseball in Minnesota. Yes, I'm excited.

But a 13 hour long pre-game show? Seriously? The Super-Bowl pre-game isn't that long.

Checked the schedule...slightly inflated since 2am is a replyay of todays game, but still...

Highlights of our live coverage from Target Field include:

8 to 9 a.m. -- A discussion of how Target Field was built and how it will fit the 2010 Twins; a history lesson on Minnesota ballparks of the past and how parts of them are reflected in Target Field.

9 to 10 a.m. -- A look back at "A September to Remember" and the Target Field groundbreaking ceremony.

10 to 11 a.m. -- A look back at the Twins' time in the Metrodome.

11 a.m. to noon -- Live interviews with Joe Nathan, Rod Carew and Harmon Killebrew, as well as live coverage of the unveiling of the Kirby Puckett statue at 11:30 a.m.

Noon to 1 p.m. -- Live coverage of the gates opening, batting practice and fan flavor around the ballpark. Note that these segments won't re-air in our evening replay, so this is a one-time-only chance to see many "firsts" from Target Field.

2:15 to 3:10 p.m. -- Live coverage of the pregame ceremonies at Target Field.

3:10 p.m. First pitch -- Twins vs. Red Sox
6 p.m. Qwest Twins Live Postgame

Interviews with Ron Gardenhire, Carl Pavano and the stars of the game. Also, a rare chance to see all the FOX Sports North analysts on the field after the game, covering the new aspects of outdoor baseball for the Twins.

That is a little odd and over-doing it. Still when will be the next time they have a home opener in a brand new stadium? We probably won't be around when they do. Good to see you back though, it's been awhile.

This outdoes the radio pregame stuff the Packers do. Packers typically have 3 hours of pre-game stuff, then 2-3 hours of post-game (complaining and crying) ( :lol: ) for radio. Overkill to me. I'll have it on, but it'll be easy to come and go with it.

And the gates are now open!

FSN has been broadcasting all the filler Raymond posted above, but now it's officially opened! Every attender is getting an Opening Day Homer Hanky, and an "I Was There" certificate. Little cloudy, possibly rain later on, but this is exciting--even if I'm not there, and just watching it at home. My brother is going today, (jealous-- :mrgreen: ) and I hope some other Twins fans here are, too.
