As much as i would love the twinkies to get Lee i just dont see Seattle accepting that deal.

They could use the catching help, but I'm not sure either. I'd love to land him, the Twins can certainly use some consistent pitching out of more then 1 or 2 guys.

As much as I hate Baker on the mound, he CAN'T leave until he signs my stubb. I was at one of his good outings last year (went 6 and a third no-hits, perfect I think until losing the game) one of the stubbs had him on it. IDK what happened to the other one.

I can't part with Revere either... Hicks and Gibson and Ramos can sure go. Sano needs to stay.

Are you basing this off of your IP signature needs??

:D

Scott Baker: Yes.

The rest? No. If it helps, I own IPs of Revere and Hicks. Sano I don't but if he is as good as the local news made him out to be, than he should stay. He got paid big money... it was enough to buy a couple cars and a house (in DR, not America).

I really don't see us getting Lee... to be honest I didn't think we would get Thome, Crede (gone I know), Orlando Cabrera, (also gone), Orlando Hudson, or Hardy, so I may be wrong.

I have seen Baker blow enough games to have given up on him and his future with the Twins. The 6 1/3 no-hit I mentioned, he ended up trashing the game in the 6th-7th... to the Royals... I even called it last year at the end when they were in a series with the Tiggers, so even though I don't have an IP auto of him doesn't swing my descion (I was joking in the post above)

Agreed, no way the Twins give up Kyle Gibson. I could see Ramos, Hicks, & a mid-grade pitcher.

I think you go for a mix. Baker, Hicks and Ramos. The reason being, you get a proven starter (Baker), a fringy (sorry Ramos collector dude) catching prospect, and Hicks. Hicks is still 3 years away, Ramos could start post All Star break. Ramos doesn't have a home in Minnesota because of some guy named Mauer.. (not sure if he is going to be any good! haha)

as for the Reds:
You give up Yonder, Woods, and a low level guy (Billy Hamilton?).
I am not sure if that will work

In summary, I think for rental player the price is pretty steep. In turn, Lee is an amazing talent that could carry a team to the playoffs and beyond.. A true #1

Am I the only one that keeps repeating this in their head....

The Mariners are going to turn Tyson Gillies and Phillipe Aumont into

6 Months of Cliff Lee (at a pretty great price), Aaron Hicks and Wilson Ramos...

Someone explain to me why the PHILLIES COULDN'T DO THIS? Lee has pitched really well, but if I recall correctly he was one hell of a pitcher last year too.

Somehow a rental of Cliff Lee is worth almost double the price as a full-year of Cliff Lee? If the end up scoring League (and other junk) they could well give up their top-three prospects

Drabek ~ Gibson
Ramos > Arnaud
Hicks ~ Taylor

...and Halladay was assured to sign!

Yeah, I'd love to keep Hicks and give them Revere in the deal. But if it takes Hicks I still do it. Toss in Dinkelman and Tosoni as well. Just keep Gibson and Benson out of the deal.

Yeah I'm probably a bit biased on giving him up since I am collecting his cards haha. But yeah if it does take him, as much as it would hurt, the Twins NEED Cliff Lee. I am sick of all these years making the playoffs and being out in 3 or 4 games. It's time to make an actual run.

Noooo! Keep Dink out of it! He's from my hometown, and he hasn't been to Twinsfest yet! He has to stay within the organization until I get to meet him at Twinsfest.

If the Twins are not aggressive someone else will be. I don't care if it is a rental, someone will give up a quality prospect or two. The Twins have Delmon Young batting 8th and Thome batting 7th....that is hot good the lineup is. They need pitching in the worst way and outside the yankees can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the AL in a 5 or 7 game series. If they want to win now they mortgage the future for Yankee killer.

I think either Blackburn or Slowey ends up in a deal for Lee. Twins rotation would be Lee, Pavano, Baker, Liriano, and Blackburn/Slowey. My guess on the deal would be Ramos, Blackburn/Slowey, and Revere. As a Tigers fan, I hope it doesn't happen but I think the Mariners will end making a deal with the Twins.

I only caught a glimpse of the game the other day, so maybe Twins fans can help me out:

Does Carl Pavano really have a dirty-dirty-dirty little mustache going on right now?

Haha yes he does. There has actually been alot about it around here. Everyone thinks that is why he has been doing so well for us this year, so he's been keeping it around.
