Went to the flea market today with my dad so he could look for a cheap bass guitar. There was a vintage dealer there with a lot of nice old Red Sox cards ranging from all years. I wanted his Yaz RC  ...He had a SICK Clemente RC as well as HOFers from a lot of other 50/60 Topps sets. Anyways I talked with him for a bit and walked away with these 2 cards:

The Lord I could not pass up for $20, it's a sweet looking card and the Doerr I have wanted FOREVER but haven't bought it since today....that card is in EX-MT condition and has no creases sharp corners nice edges....SO nice. Finally snagged that one....now I just need the 51 Topps!! :)

CLICK HERE to see the rest of my Doerr vintage cards.

Thanks for looking,
-Scott

PS - White Whale comming in soon... ;)

Great stuff!

There is something very gratifying about finding cards like this at a flea market and buying them face to face. Well done!

Nicely done Scott! Those are two great pickups!
Which fleamarket did you go to? I love going to Raynham with my brother. Although the card sellers were really good about 4 years ago.
Not sure about now..

Nice pickups Scott...now you need to get the 51 blue back then have Doerr sign the rest of the vintage run before he passes away.

Great stuff scotty.......that Lord looks familiar
Thanks Alex, and I recall you owning this card also? [Or used to?]

Pine Tar - Thanks Richard, you don't usually see 19 year olds with really nice vintage collections but I go against the grain a bit. [Hell, I collect cards and am very skinny  ]

Mighty Bombjack - Thanks a lot. :) And I agree with you, it's nice talking with others that share the same hobby, and it helped that he was an avid vintage collector like myself. 8-)

MattinglyAlexander - Yep, they are awesome in person!

pghbuccos - Thanks Dave! I was so relieved to finally add it to my PC, I have been wanting it forever but other cards have popped up and a lot of times these pop up on ebay in crappy condition, this one is SHARP. My dad did not end up buying a guitar but he did end up buying a small amp for the house so he can take his other one to his friends house when they play.

theplasticman - Thanks! I was quite content with the two cards I got, and it was funny because it was the last booth we walked by, ha.

chippernate - Thanks bud, the Doerr is very nice...don't know why I did not buy one til now! Keep an eye out for a 51 Topps for me. ;)

chromerookies - Always good hearing from you Dan, glad you like them. :D

WoundedDuck - Well how many more vintage pickups so I need to get for you to start buying them?! :D  If you ever decide you are going to then shoot me a pm and I will help getting you started, it is a whole new collecting world and there are SO many sets and players to go after. Vintage never gets old.. :)

rebelpawn - Thanks James!!! I went to the one in Hubbardston, mostly filled with junk but it is only 20 minutes away and is usually one or two dealers with cards. Maybe I will have to check out the Raynham one sometime this summer

mlbsalltimegreats - Thanks Tony! I think you will like the white whale, not my most expensive card but one I been after for quite a while!

MaineMule - Thanks Scott! Lord looks even younger than me!

metallicalex777 - I can always count on you Alex for a good laugh. And not a problem, you deserve it bud! Hopefully that HOF PC is comming along well! I know I did see you got some other great HOF cards from the Morning Crew.

birdsfan85 - Thanks Talmer, I really need that 51 blue back now...I would get them all autoed but I am afriad to mail them across the country, if something ever happened to those I would be very sad!I am going to send him a couple cards to TTM soon enough though, as well as some other players, I really want to get into that but have been quite busy recently.

daveyou - Thanks Dave! Have seen you around in a while man, hope everything is going well!

imac220 - Sure are bud! Thanks....the WW should either arrive end of this week or early next week, let's just say it completes multiple goals for me!!

CL 258 - Thank you! :)
