Ubaldo Jimenez...ouch

Hes getting knocked around today and this season has been a waste and so far on pace to be worse than last with an ERA barely south of 5.00 and a WHIP of 1.60

He was so good two years ago and it seems like that season was most definitely a fluke.

Anyone think he can possibly recover?

The weird thing was that when he was great he was pitching a mile above sea level. Irony is the most powerful force in the universe.

He was only good for about 60% of a single season. Not sure why everyone was expecting him to turn into Roy Halliday after that. Even Bob Welch won 27 games one season. Didn't make him a hall of famer.

There was a thread in the beginning of the season where I said I would rather have Justin Masterson than Ubaldo. Everybody laughed at me. I feel like DaClyde, he was good for half of a single season. The Rockies are the home team around here, so it's not like I wasn't real familiar with him. I hated that trade from day 1. The only good thing is that Alex White and Drew Pomeranz haven't been very good, in the MLB anyway. I saw White play last week in AAA and he was awesome, even though (or maybe because) I was cheering against him (silently) the whole time.

Yeah, I wanted to bump that thread and tell everybody "I told you so!" but Masterson really hasn't been good either. At least he throws a gem here and there, so there's the excitement and mystery before each game. I pretty much expect Ubaldo to surrender an insurmountable amount of runs every time we run him out there. Le Sigh.

But hey, maybe they'll trade him today with Choo. I think I'm going to become a full time Yankees fan.

WoW, it's even worse than I thought, and I've actually been watching... until the 3rd inning when it becomes unbearable anyway...

Since joining the Indians, the 28-year-old Jimenez has gone 12-14 with a 5.08 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP across 32 outings. Over 187 2/3 innings in that time period, the right-hander has given up 191 hits, issued 99 walks and allowed 25 home runs, while piling up 156 strikeouts.
