Posted this on SCF, nobody really cared. I thought it was a good story!
I've read a lot of threads where people aren't too happy with replacements and such from UD, but the phone call I just got was amazing.
Four months ago I set up a return of 2009 Chris Wells Signature Shots auto that appeared to have machine damage. Somehow my wife mixed up the mail that was set out for delivery confirmation, and ended up dropping it in the box WITHOUT POSTAGE. It was pretty funny and the punchline of an ongoing joke (she's a pediatrician but mails packages with no stamps...)
Anyway, I figured it was gone forever, and never even contacted UD about it. They certainly can't be responsible for a blank envelope. A few minutes ago, I got a call from Carlsbad...
They apologized for taking so long to get back to me. They unfortunately don't have any Wells Signature Shots to replace it with. They'd like to substitute a Wells Same Day Signature (case hit - hell yeah!) and a few other Buckeye cards...
Huge, huge thumbs up to the USPS and Upper Deck.
