Cool cards, but as a baseball card collector, there's no way i'm putting that thing anywhere near the rest of my sports cards collection.

I was honestly just wondering this today. Its almost like they really pressure the hell out of you to take another card instead of waiting it out. You would think that if they really were making all these cards...they'd be more than happy to clear them out and ship them to you. After all...I can't see most card collectors accepting these cards as replacements for actual autos of athletes. So if they get made and never get redeemed...its pretty much a giant waste of money whereas other cards such as autos and GU can eventually be used as replacements.

I hope to get mine but they didn't even tell me what bug it is yet. Is there some way to find out?

What a great idea!

We don't have the money to make the card now, so let's just wait until we sell all of the product so that we can pay our creditors and have enough to cash to actually make these cards.

If we keep doing this, there's no way we can ever lose! We'll just keep selling product before it's ever created so that we can create it!

This is the best way to run a business.... EVER!

We should get into the financial business, Richard! We'll use the money our investors give us to pay off the previous investors! We'll keep paying off previous investors and creditors with the most recent investments which OBVIOUSLY will never stop coming in.

An email was sent out about a delay with them. Not when they will be sent out, But they will be caught up soon with redemptions. Why they're giving me a replacement still has me curious, told them it has to be a case hit type card. Probably will be crap though.

The "Great Walking Leaf" insect can remain dormant for many months. It may appear to be dead but it is simply in a suspended state. It emerges from it's torpor when chemical receptors sense that food has become abundant again. It's diet consists primarily of Topps sports card stock and any Topps issued product. It has a voracious appetite. One Great Walking Leaf consumed an unopened wax box of 1987 Topps in a two day period. Only the gum was left behind.

So apparently, this insect eats crap.

They tried(after calling again) to give me a replacement card as well but when I told them the types of cards I'd be willing to take a replacement for, they said it would not be possible. I argued that this was a case hit and I was told that they go by beckett prices(both for these and my damn Flynn auto). I asked them how in the blue hell beckett had actual true pricing on these since they haven't even been made. I was again told to look at beckett. Apparently...beckett is so freaking awesome that they can price cards not even in existence!

Thats bull because Beckett fails to price cards that DO exist. I'm sure they aren't going out of their way anytime soon.

I love all the fools who reached and bought these for 120+. The card books 100 bucks, which means
UD can send you 2 30 dollar game used cards and one 30 dollar autograph card and call it a day. The
products only selling point was these insects and UD had no real clue on just how much these cards
would cost, they probably figured out they would sell out of Goodwin, but it was a dog for most and Im
sure they are sitting on cases and cases...actually they are probably ripping them open right now pulling
all those 20 and 30 dollar GU pieces to offer as replacments.

The funny thing is that UD doesn't even have to make these cards, they have covered themselves on the
redemption card saying they can offer a suitable replacment. Time to grab your ankles again!

UD just announced they will have a walk up redemption center where you can redeem your cards live if you are in
Carlsbad. Here is the first customer redeeming a praying mantis redemption:

While the pricing department handles this stuff, I figured I'd reply here anyway. (I'm more than a little surprised you guys don't know or understand this...)

The price that Beckett publishes is for the redemption card -- which is the same for any of the bugs on the checklist.

Beckett routinely prices redemption cards because the redemptions do get bought and sold -- just like standard cards.

As you can see on the screenshot, it should be clear that the redemptions are what's priced. Obviously, once actual cards would arrive and premiums paid for different ones or rarer ones, the values would fluctuate more. And obviously the ones that are less appealing or more plentiful would be more likely to sell for less than the redemption.
