This card looked ****** on paper but man did it deliver. Big Nog proved that he is infact not done and Randy Coture should finally retire. Leben lost and Jardine lost. Both make for a good PPV for me. ALso there were 2 KO's in under 10 seconds. The Maia KO was upsetting for me but he got straight served. All in all I thought it was a great PPV for offering no title fight.

Randy Couture signed a 6 fight contract on Saturday...I don't want to see him for 2 more years and i'm not interested in seeing him get another shot at Lesnar...I know he will make them money, but he can't beat the bigger names in the lw or hw division anymore. :?:

That new Handy contract was given to him to basically ensure he doesn`t go off and fight for another promotion I believe. I think it is a stupid move though.

I played High School football and ran track against Todd Duffee. Thought that was pretty neat.

I don't think Randy wants another shot at Lesnar. Lesnar is just too big for him and unless by some freak spider bite, I don't think Randy will get any additional superpowers as he continues to age.

It is hard for me to place exactly where Nogeira is after that fight, while he did look a lot better, he also still looks a lot older than 33-34. Surely he shouldn't get a sniff of the belt I wouldn't think.

Saw most of teh fights.

I figured Nog would prove one of 2 things. Either hes washed up or the staph infection 3 weeks prior to the Mir fight is what made him look liek $hiT.

Well I think he proved that the staph infection was why he lost to Mir.

At this point, have him rematch Mir. If Nog wins, have him fight Brock after, assuming Brock beats Carwin.
If Mir wins the rematch, have Mir fight Cain Velasquez after Cain pounds out Ben Rothwell.
This way, assuming all things go as planned, either Nog fights Brock/Carwin for the title, Mir fights Brock Carwin for teh title, or Cain fights Brock/Carwin for the title.

Regarding the other fights, its unfortunate for Maia that every fight has to start on the feet.
I dont know why 15 years later, guys still have the Royce Gracie mentality that you only need enough standup to whether the storm and get it to the ground. STUPID STUPID STUPID.

Also Gonzaga landed the worst groing shot I have seen in the cage. The poor guy started vomiting for the pain then took a massive kick to the head less than a minute after recovering.

Jardine proved that he will never be anything but a gatekeeper.

Leben proved that he is still the same one trick pony and its a shame that this is a guy that still fights on main cards. Absolutely no improvement in the 4+ years since TUF 1.

And yes, Todd Duffee is going to do great. Knowledgeable MMA fans have been waiting for his UFC debut for months now. He was originally slated to take on Al-Turk but they gave that gimme fight to Cro Cop instead.
