UFC Fight Night will be held on April 1st, 2009 from the Summitt Center in Nashville Tennessee. It will air free on Spike TV.

WEC Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit (22-4) will make his UFC debut against Martin Kampmann (14-2). Condit holds wins over Frank Trigg, Renato Verissimo, and Brock Larson among others.

Also fighting on the card are several fighters from this last season of The Ultimate Fighter. Ryan Bader, Efrain Escudero, and Junie Browning will be fighting The Ultimate Fighter Season 5 fighter Cole Miller. Jeremy Stephens was supposed to fight Efrain, but he has taken the fight against Joe Lauzon this Saturday night replacing Hermes Franca. It is being reposted that Brock Larson may also appear on this card as well.

I think this looks pretty good.

If anyone in the WEC needs to move up to the big time it's Uriah Faber. He needs to move up.

Um, no, it's not time for him to "move up".

They might be owned by the UFC, but he sells WEC by himself. Plus, he fights at 145, so him going to 155 isn't exactly in the cards right now. The argument that he could fight at 155 is a moot point. He is a 145 guy all the way.

WEC got rid of the 170 division, which is why some guys are moving over to UFC. The WEC also added a 125 division, which should be interesting. There is a ton of overseas talent to fill that division, in the near future.

That is why Dana White told Faber before the Mike Brown fight that he either moves up to the UFC, or they were going to send down tougher competition for him to compete against right?

Sam you are an idiot.
Zuffa owns WEC. Why would White risk ruining one of his prize boys?
This isn't like your little WWE/Vince McMahon soap opera.

ANd I predict my boy CC submits the Hitman at the SOMET CENTER in Nashville!! ;)

So I am an idiot for reading an article on SherDog a few months ago.

Sounds about right.

Pretty much.
A little common sense and knowledge goes along way. If Sherdog says it it must be gold.
Dana is all about the $$$$. You think he's do ANYTHING to mess with his bank. Get real.

Regardless, Faber is a beast and will hit the big show soon enough. I actually see the UFC catering to the talent pool of small guys and adjusting the weight classes.

Would make more sense as Faber IS a little dude.
You seen how "effectve" little guys are that try to go big.

I'm 6'1 200 Lbs. and I felt like a beast next to The Kid and The Prodigy.

I don't think there is any way that Faber moves to the UFC or that Dana White wants him in the UFC. I would bet that Faber wouldn't even be a top 5 155er in the UFC. He's be moving up in weight and would be fighting in a division stacked with big wrestlers who I think would just outwrestle him. I'd liken him to someone like Frankie Edgar. Someone that can beat lesser guys but probably don't have what it takes to be at the top of the division.

He's also the face of the WEC and one of the few truly marketable guys they have. Also, while he was on the verge of doing it, he hasn't cleaned out the 145 class in the WEC yet. Let him try to get his belt back, then fight someone like Garcia and maybe a few others and then if he has no more new viable challengers maybe he should think about jumping ship.
