I didn't make one excuse after he got his ass handed to him by Johnny Bones though. He got his ass beat. Forrest is a favorite of mine as well, but this go around, Shogun was Shogun and dropped him.

Forrest fights the exact same way every single time.
He also has a track record of falling into slugfests with guys.
His loss to Rua was a mirror of his loss to Jardine who he was beating up until getting ko'd.
He ALMOST lost to Rampage the same way as well.

Sometimes he can get away with it like with Tito where he is a better striker or vs Franklin where he looked 2 weight classes heavier than Rich.

Against the cream of the crop though, Silva, Rua, Rashad more often than not will catch him when he abandons the stick and jab gameplan (which hes quite good at) and adopts the gunsablazin strategy!

Let's start here. Where were the leg kicks he used so effectively against Page, since you want to analyze the slugfest aspect.
