All it takes are two bidders - one slightly deranged, the other quite a bit more deranged, to screw up the average ending price.

I'll fess up: I was the "slightly deranged" guy who lost out.

It's how my luck goes. I've told you all this before. If you want your prospect to get popular for no reason (I mean, I know he's good, but why now?), tell me to start buying and watch him get "prospector hot" in like 2 weeks.

Actually, I think in this case you are the lucky one.

that is flat out silly in my opinion.

That is a $75 card max.....

Give it time, and, IMO, the buyer will be able to double; triple if graded.

Come on, really?

A non-top 100 prospect orange for $130 and you think it will triple in price?
I wish you luck, because I am assuming you are sitting on a bunch of his stuff. I have nothing against the guy, i sold off 2 golds and 6 blues at some point.

Not everyone one is in the top 100 their whole career. Well, the overrated ones tend to be, but i digress.

I'll call it like this: Cain may end up being the baseball equavilant of Antonio Gates. Cain couldn't even play baseball until he was a sophomore in HS. That means he's been learning the game much more recently. His natural athletic ability has gotten him to where he is now, and it appears that he has picked up the game even more since then. So, basically, it's not just him getting better in his OWN game, but getting better AT the game. Most prospects don't evolve like that.

But please feel free to ignore everything I'm saying.

I hope you are right! As long as you trade him, so he won't kill my Cubs every year!
