Wow that is funny. And yes the Umpires can kick out anyone, even fans. I have see the audio guy get kicked out before. And even the PA announcer was throw out a few years ago around here by me. We wondered why there was no announcements of who was up and what not. LOL

Umpires can really only eject fans who become a physical threat or who's words can incite others to become a physical threat. However, when it comes to employees ranging from people in the booth, to ushers, to vendors, etc... none of them are supposed to make any comments regarding the umpires or opposing team/players. Period. Sometimes they can get a warning, but a warning is not required. The sound guy certainly stepped over the line and was rightfully removed. I umpire baseball (high school, adult league, little league, etc...) and referee basketball. One time, I had to turn someone's mic off at a basketball game. Whenever his team was ready to shoot free throws, he would announce who it was and how many shots they were getting before the player stepped to the line. When the visiting team was attempting free throws, he always waited until the player was at the line and the official had bounced him the ball to shoot... an obvious attempt to distract the player. We gave him a warning the first time, and had to turn his mic off the second time, to a chorus of boos. But it was all about fair play, which he was not.
