On third down Eli throw a ball to Smith. The chiefs saftey jarrod page put one of the better hits I have seen all year and it was clean. He didnt lead with his helmet and nor did he hit him in the head. It was just a very good clean hit and the ref threw a flag. I really dont understand how there going to decide what should be flagged and what should not be. It happens too fast, let them play the game. I thought it was suppose to be a physical game. Next play Eli threw a TD to him.

It was pretty questionable, even the announcers couldn't believe it. But in reality it won't change anything, the Giants will win regardless.

The refs are not consistent enough on roughing the passer calls. During the Titans game Tony Brown laid a helmet-to-helmet hit on Garrard that was not called....

Edit: Whoops, missed your point. Thought you might have been referencing a roughing the passer call.

That must be that "defenseless receiver" thing. I remember them talking about it in the pre-season and seeing it called and thinking WTF?

I understand the sentiment and trying to keep the players safe.....but that one seems very subjective and the guys on the Defensive side are trying to win or playing for jobs too - I'm sure there are some cheap shots, but you can't take anything for granted....you see the receiver you pop them, I'd imagine the majority of the time those hits occur when the DB doesn't even see the ball - they see the receiver looking up and think I better stop them. I don't know if that was the case in this situation......I can only hope it's just called in situations where the ball is clearly out of range and it's a "cheap-shot".

Thats not the point I am trying to make though, it will happen sometimes in a game that matters
