I collected Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez from 1991-2006. He was my idol growing up. I amassed a collection somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 cards. I have already sold off all of the autos and a few GU. I still have about 30 or so GU cards and a ton a rare 90's inserts of him and all of the Rc's and base. My question is what would be the best way to list the cards on Ebay. Should I break the GU, Inserts, and Base up into small lots or make larger lots. Advice is needed here!!!

Also I am going to the Inaugural Beckett Open house in a few weeks and I am taking the 2 following cards to get slabbed. Only 5 of these have been graded with an 8.5 being the highest grade. I will get some better scans later but here is a taste for now.

BTW, this is one of Pudge's earliest cards and probably the toughest to find.

Well I kinda expected that. But just due to the rarity of them I wanted to get them slabbed. They are the only 2 Pudge cards that I am holding on to.

Nice cards. I may have to chase one of those down.

Once I get them slabbed I might be willing to move one.

Good plan! I would hold onto those two. Maybe you can get one signed by Pudge down the road and keep the other one untouched. Anyway that is a VERY tough set to find, I have been looking for the Bernie from the same set for quite some time.

As for your other cards, I would contact other Pudge collectors here and on various trading sites to see if you can move chunks of your collection. You will get better prices from Pudge collectors who are looking for those cards than selling everything on eBay at once. If you aren't able to work something out, you can eventually list up the cards anyway.

I have a few links to various sites on my page if you are looking for places to start: http://legendsfield.googlepages.com/.

why not list your entire remaining collection on Ebay in one shot.. put some good scans up of some of the best cards and give a detailed list of what you have in the sale. someone looking to get in on the bottom floor or fill in big gaps will want that info to determine whether or not to buy the whole lot. I know if I was starting ground floor I would rather buy one big collection like that and then work from there saving alot of time and money in the long run.

Thank you all. As far as the BYN cards, I have only seen 5 copies in my lifetime. There was a guy on Beckett Marketplace that had 2 but he wanted like 80-100 for each. My card shop had one about 8 years ago and back then he wanted like 45 and I did not have the money. When I finally got the money he had already sold it. As for the 2 that I have. My wife nad my Mom got me one each 3 years ago and they paid 40 each. Only 5 copies have been graded by Beckett, but I have no idea if PSA or any of the other grading companies have graded any. Very, very hard cards to find.

I was just looking at the two cards you plan to have graded and I must ask why waste that money? those cards are gonna grade very poorly on centering and it will actually make them less valuable in a slab with low grade than selling off raw as is.. would you really be happy if they graded like a 7 or something like that?

So since you collect Roger Clemens, do you only collect his "pre-steroid" cards?

Well, there have only been 5 that BGS has ever graded. The Highest grade being an 8.5. Mostly for protection purposes. Not really that worried about the grade as the card itself is rare enough as it is.
