Re: Unsigned pickup thread ther

I got 2 2008 ProJections Ben Revere Base cards in the mail that REEK of stankieness (stink of cigarette smoke), so I am experimenting on them to see what will take the smell out...

Experiment 1: Body Spray (I know it won't kill the odor, just mask it)

Result: Made it smell worse

Experiment 2: Spray on foot deodorant (yes, seriously)

Result: Made it smell like foot deodorant... I will check in another hour or so too see what I got rockin there...

If not, I will try foot deodorant powder, and baby powder... let's hope something works

Apparently someone wrote all over them ::facepalm::

That's ok, it wasn't a lot, and I was able to use rubbing alcohol to get the ink out. The indentations are still there, but hopefully his signature covers them.

Smell seems to be gone too...

Ever thought about putting them in close proximity to a box of baking soda? That typically draws out odors.

I am going to try that, they are smelling really weird... I tossed the idea that I could do something with baking soda, but I never put it into action.

2010 Bowman Draft Danny Valencia Chrome RC.

That leaves just a baseball. I would like an official one, but I don't have the money for one. Wal-Mart MIGHT have something...

Despite the price increase Rawlings' is imposing on their OMLBs, the Academy Sports near me still sells them, with the case, for $12/ea. The deals are out there...

Yowch that's expensive...

I can settle with a Wal-Mart ball for a couple bucks, if they have them out. If not, I will just have him sign something on the spot...

What's y'all's stance on OMiLBs? That is, "Official Minor League Baseballs"?

I got Jason Heyward's signature on one of these bad boys last year at a TriStar show. It's a beautiful signature and he inscribed "2009 Minor League POY" on the side panel after signing on the sweet spot. Unfortunately there is the nasty "China" logo underneath the SS, but it's still a quality ball so the signature won't fade.

I also got Kyle Drabek's on a OMiLB.

I've heard baseballs that are made in China are not good for auto's on the long run. Hope people are mistaken as this would be a cheaper option for us.
