We are sorry to announce that 2010 Upper Deck Draft Edition Football has been canceled. One of the key drivers for this product is Upper Deck’s ability to deliver the set before the NFL Draft occurs in April and when it became clear that our production schedule would not allow for that to happen this time around, we ha...d no choice but to remove it from the packout calendar.

Do they still have that Sweet Spot Draft product coming out?

Because judging by the reactions on this board, it seemed there was a lot more anticipation for that release anyway.

While UD Draft Edition wasn't the greatest product, it was a great product for college fans. It also had on-card autos, which was great for the first release of the season. I find it kind of sad that UD talked up their exclusive college football deal and then fail to deliver a pre-draft product.

The more I think of it having to cancel the release is kind of odd and a little sad on their part......I mean it's not like they have Basketball and Baseball releases to deal with at the moment (well maybe some baseball, but that's a whole other story) seems putting together a football product on time shouldn't be an issue.

Makes me wonder if there weren't other reasons - poor pre-orders, financial issues with them, the court cases, etc. etc.
Which would just fuel those that think UD is in a whole lot of trouble.

Tebow isnt out. He would have been in this set. That only applies to SAGE.

I think you bring up some great points and I wonder how much of that is true.

Another issues was that to hit this time line, we were going to have to use label autographs on this product like many early collegiate football products feature. We didn't want to go that route since this product had a history of hard-signed cards.

If this was an actual reason for it being cancelled, then I can respect that. I'd rather have on card autos than stickers personally.

History? It used stickers the first year and then was on card last year. It is not exactly a history. They should have been prepared for it.

eh who cares, stuff was junk anyhow.

If the only issue really was that it wouldn't be out on time - it looks like UD pretty much knew it was junk too.

I know the only reason I bought the product last year was because I was pumped after the draft, and other than press pass or sage, it was the only release out. If it was out a month or two later I never would have ended up buying a box.
