It's clear now you need a little time for some self reflection...

Let's try this again tomorrow.

I do realize even if someone had pictures of Jacko removing a boys underoos, you Jacko lovers would defend him so I guess this is pointless! I think some of you were OJ jury members!

My original comment was removed but what I am trying to say is that you can print anything as long as you included an "allegedly".

I've got a question for you guys... remember 1990 ProSet Football? My friends and I would ride our bikes to the card shop and rip boxes of ProSet. Buy one box and rip it, and hope to pull Santa or one of the other non-football cards. Trade those for another box and rip it, trade the cards for a new box... repeat. That's how I ended up with a 5,000 ct box of 1990 ProSet commons.

I was just pondering on this last night, after reading a few threads ranting about this sudden trend of non-sports cards being mixed into our sports cards. It's been going on for a really long time...

As far as I am concerned, I don't mind most gimmicks to sell cards (serial-numbering, game-used, autographs, short-prints, etc.) but it's the incredibly forced and ridiculous gimmicks that make me sick.

Asinine gimmicks that come to mind...
- Topps Mantle, Bush, Jeter card
- Topps Guiliani, Red Sox card
- Topps Kazuo "Whatever" fake prospect card (IE: an embarrassing hack of the Sidd Finch concept)
- Topps "accidental" probable release of the Bernie Madoff cards from Allen Ginter
- Upper Deck "*" Sweet Spot card (My personal #1 offender)
- Upper Deck Michael Buysner card
- Upper Deck's Michael Jackson inserts in this product

These Jackson cards are embarrassing.

And the question of whether or not Michael Jackson sexually assaulted any of the children isn't really that important to me. The facts remain that he slept with children in his own bed and that's enough for me to get a little uncomfortable. I'm not going to hang a dead man, but there is no question that Michael Jackson had serious, serious mental health issues that were no doubt due to his incredibly tough and screwed up child fame - like most child stars.

I guess if there was a reason that people hammer on Upper Deck a bit more, it is probably due to their far more shady history than Topps. That isn't to imply that Topps is full of saints, but Upper Deck is a complete hobby "****" (for lack of a better word).

Boomo, the children's first father was being interviewed about how his kid was scarred for life and then said "well drop the case for $20 million". ::facepalm::

The second allegation went to court and MJ was found innocent on all counts. Later, the kid admitted it was all his parent's idea.

I like how UD is branded for the asterisk card but what about all the Topps gimmick cards like the 2008 upside down cards, Bush/Jeter, the fake prospect Uzuki, etc?

They are just trading cards. If you don't like them, don't buy them. Besides, it's in UD "X". No one even buys that brand.

Would you leave your kids overnight with him?

I have a 3 year old boy. He's never stayed over anyone's house but his grandma's.

Obviously the people who submitted their child to staying with a celebrity knew sooner or later they could cash in. One of the kid's parent was a screen writer who demanded money so he could go produce his films.

Everyone can say all they want but since 1993 when the first of two allegations popped up, not a single conviction has occurred, even for his supposed "child ****" that Bodiaz came up with.

Regardless of his mental state of mind...this cards have little purpose.I don't mind them throwing non sport aspects into the products but they should make a specific set for it.If I want these kinds of cards I do what I do now which is buy things like Allen and Ginter. If I want a baseball set...well what the hell will I do in 5 years when like half the pack consists of people who are not an athlete? These things are needless.
