If UD had a contract that said they could produce MLB cards for four more years and MLBPA took that time away, I'm sure they'd be quite upset. This guy has a card that says it is #ed/8. He has a valid complaint.

I don't really see a huge problem with the numbering issue personally but I can see that others might. He clearly does and it won't hurt for him to call UD and voice that complaint.

There are solidly valid opinions that differ from our own.

Did the card itself say that? Or, was that revealed on the UD website when the number was entered? Then it could just attest to a simple data entry number.

The redemption said "# ED TO 8 CD # UDS-8."

Turns out, it is /39.

Considering Eck had two stops in Boston in his career totaling 7 1/2 years of service...I don't see why the pairing is so odd. No different than seeing Sandy Koufax and Andre Ethier or Robin Roberts and Ryan Howard on the same card. They were both very recognizable names on their perspective teams.

As far as the OP, he has every right to complain. He already said he could flip them for large profits in Boston. I'd imagine he would've gotten that much more owning 50% of the print run instead of 10%.

In my opinion, Sandy Koufax and Andre Ethier, or Ryan Howard and Robin Roberts, paired on a card together would be 'odd.'

Not to most Dodgers or Phillies fans.
