The list is posted on thehamiltionians blog which i linked below. Upper Deck has been known, in the past, to seperate the top RC young guns between series 1 and 2. Like in 05/06 when they put Crosby in series 1 and Ovechkin in series 2.

For those who do not know, Upper Decks "Young Guns" rookie cards that come from UDs basic set, are year in year out some of the most popular RCs in the Hockey hobby.

Heres the list of the players appearing in series 1 below. Cant wait to open up ome of this stuff.

I'll never understand the popularity of the young guns cards. I guess I'll just never understand the insanity that is hardcore hockey collectors. Though I did once purchase a box of 05/06 series 2 for like 50 bucks and pull the Ovechkin YG, which I promptly sold for like 100 bucks.

The only really big names left to be 'assigned' to either Series 1 or 2 are Viktor Stalberg, Tyler Bozak and Colin Wilson.

Yeah isn't it great when a trading card can receive hobby love without being a dual patch/auto numbered ridiculously low :P

I agree Bilko, loaded series 1. That will sell like hot cakes.

I like Young Guns, because they are almost ridiculously easy to trade. :)

Lots of set builders out there, and its nice to be able to get a 'good' rookie card of a player without breaking the bank.

I'm guessing Series 1, because they would have been able to have everything for that card all made up, and not have to wait for him to debut. Aside from the big stars already mentioned, I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the checklist was made up of holdovers from last season.

Any idea if either one of these Blackhawks will have Young Guns cards this year...... Niklas Hjalmarsson or Antti Niemi? Hjalmarsson had an OPC Rookie last year and that was his only card. I wasn't sure if because he had a card last year if he would have a Young Gun this season.

Hjalmarsson had a eight rookie cards last season (OPC, Artifacts, Champs, MVP, BAP, SPx, SPGU, Black). Only one year of rookie cards for NHL guys, and not everyone gets a Young Gun.

Niemi will probably be in Series 1. He has already been in Victory, Ultra and OPC this season.

Love the YG! I think Backlund will be in Series 1 and I look forward to buying many of his cards. I think he'll be a good one.

I remember seeing Backlund on a TSN segment on hockey cards a while back. I think that means they use him in Series 1...but could be wrong.
