After looking forward to this all weekend, it looks like I am screwed because I do not have a hobby shop anywhere near me.
Hopefully we can hlep someone on here win big, they have some sweet prizes!
Carlsbad, CA (December 14, 2009) – The Upper Deck Company believes it feels better to give than receive so this year it is giving back in a big way to sports fans throughout the U.S. and Canada. Upper Deck has hidden 12 major prizes at hobby shops throughout the U.S. and Canada as part of the company’s “Holiday Hunt” program. Items up for grabs include a football signed by top 2009 NFL rookies like Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez, Percy Harvin and more; a limited-edition Joe DiMaggio autographed trading card; a hockey helmet signed by many of the top 2009-10 NHL rookies like John Tavares, Victor Hedman and Jonas Gustavsson; a LeBron James autographed basketball; and several other top-tier prizes.
Sports fans just need to follow the clues that will be released starting today on Upper Deck’s Facebook page and Twitter account to find the hobby stores where these amazing items have been hidden. Using the clues to find the right store is just the first part of the hunt. The clues will also lead them to a current year Upper Deck brand in that store. They will need to purchase a pack from that “mystery” Upper Deck brand to complete the second part of the hunt. You can take home one of the 12 hidden prizes if you are the first person in the right store, to purchase the right current year Upper Deck pack and say the phrase, “I love Upper Deck’s Holiday Hunt!”
“We’ve seen tremendous support for our social media initiatives from sports fans this year,” said Carrie Peterson, Upper Deck’s online marketing manager. “This is a great way to thank people who have become fans of our Facebook page and who have followed us on Twitter. It will be interesting to see how long it takes people to find these prizes. We encourage them to use all forms of social media to communicate with each other, problem solve and ultimately bring these prizes home in time for the holidays.”
Upper Deck currently works with more than 1,100 hobby shops in the U.S. and more than 350 in Canada so sports fans have their work cut out for them. With a prize list this strong it will be worth their time to find out where they are by following the clues. The hunt is now officially on!
