The card is in great condition and has been in my uncles IP PC since he got the graph in 1978. He gave it to me cause he knows I like the Cubs but I only collect players in Cubs uni's

What's the story with the helmet? Was it a redemption issued in packs? I believe that product came out before I started collecting again.

Topps released a couple "Reserve" products, some years/products with an autographed baseball included, and one year with an autographed mini helmet. I always liked that idea, signed memorabilia. Fleer and Donruss/Playoff did it as well in various products in the early 2000s. Upper Deck had some redemptions for memorabilia that often met the same fate as most Upper Deck redemptions...unfulfilled.
