Hi everyone. Over the years, I have accumulated nearly 200,000 base cards that I have been looking to offload (baseball and basketball). I was recently offered $10 per 5,000. Do you think this is a reasonable price? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Would you need to ship them? Because that adds up quickly with base cards, if you're selling them to someone local it can save a lot of money.

Dude, that's only $400.

That comes out to 1/5th of a penny per card.

Even a penny per card works out to $50 per 5,000.

Seems very weak to me.

Agree, I don't know what kind of stuff you've got but I think you should be able to get more than $0.002 per card.

I suppose that would have been an appropriate question.

Is this recent stuff, or 80's and 90's kindling?

It seems very weak lol. If you do the math, it doesn't come out to much. Raise the price and submit your reasons. It also depends on how old they are.

Thanks for all of the thoughts. The only reason I say "urgent" is because this guy wants to close the deal soon if I do it.

Most of the stuff is from 1989-2008. Does that change any opinions?

And please note that it is all commons...everything good has been plucked out. There will be base cards of stars, but nothing more.

The reason he wants to close the deal as soon as possible is because he knows he is getting a great deal. Yeah, he is going to take a hit on the 89-96ish, but should be able to make it up on the newer stuff.

Not really, I say try to get between .5 cents to .02 cents per card. 400.00 for 200,000 cards is a bad deal on your part. If you need the money really bad and are willing to take a loss, go for it. If you can afford to hold out, I would

Also, it would be local pickup. No shipping involved.

You're probably right. I'm not strapped for the cash at all. It's just that I have these boxes and boxes and boxes that take up a lot of space. Maybe I'm just being hasty. I'll probably end up holding on to them.

I would suggest setting up at a local show, if you have one and tables aren't too expensive. Put the cards out at 2 cents each and people will be lined around your table to look through your boxes.

Yea why not, I've got about 350,000 by last years count, but I do have a ton of storage in the house. Looking to get rid of those soon too. Have to look through them again though
